Alexei Ramirez is a stud. He comes here, barely makes the team, and now he's batting .310, hitting home runs, loading up his RBIs, and playing great D. Kenny Williams really deserves some kudos for the job he's done this year. Quentin and Ramirez alone should get him executive of the year. Let's hope the hitting continues and the pitching can hold up and we should be in the Series.

I don't understand why Minnesota hasn't obeyed my order to stop winning.

I agree 100%! If KW can come up with just 1 more diamond in the rough---I'd like to see a lights-out starting pitcher that oughta put KW up for some award.

I miss Joe Crede a lot and wish he were back on the field.

As much as I like Joe I have to be realistic and congratulate Uribe on a really great 3rd base defense. Joe's back is not at all healed as over 18 (more or less) errors showed that he cannot bend to catch the ball.

Yes, he's had some spectacular plays in 2008 amidst the errors. There were times he made an error and the next play was spectacular. I hope he can get totally healed because he's one of the best 3rd basemen I've ever seen.

It's not all about what Griffey has done at the plate - although his debut in KC was impressive. What the Griffey trade did was light a fire under Paul Konerko who finally seems to have rediscovered what to do with his bat.

You have got to be talking about the Reds, because that kind of bravado is just plain silly when the Cubs haven't won in 99 years.

Enjoyed the run production in this game. Next set of series for BOTH Sox & Twins will be quite entertaining. Sox @ home vs #1 TB. And Twins on the road @#1 Angels - 4 game set!(Twins end the month w/ 3 games @ SEA & 4 @ OAK.) The SOX will be sitting pretty by Labor Day!

Jay, I think you forgot to remind us once again that Reinsdorf is cheap, threatened to move to Florida to extort a stadium out of the state, caused the strike, broke up the Bulls, and eats the flesh of babies.
Hilarious.

A most gratifying sweep today. It's good to know that we can put up all those runs even while sitting two of our biggest hitters. The next 2 weeks of the season are make-or-break. We've got the Rays, Boston, and the Angels. If we can take 2 out of 3 from each of those teams, and of course beat the clubs we're supposed to beat, I think we'll be in it (fingers crossed). This season has been so much fun.

GO WHITE SOX!

I am glad the Cub's 38 yr old and can still play some defense. It is sad just after winning the series 3 years ago that the SOX have to sign Griffey as a Marketing strategy just to bring some fans into the park.

They would have been better off putting the team in a location in suburbia so we can get to the game under 4 hrs.

You mean the old crumbling minor league ballpark on the north side. No thanks- we already have major league ball on the south side, as opposed to the century losers club on the north side.

Why are Cubs fans so insecure they need to come here? Must be tough when they none of them was alive the last time the Cubs won a World series and most of them were not alive the last time the Cubs won a pennant. You know, I guess I should show some sympathy- I would be insecure if I had never seen my team win the big one.

anyone notice how Junior buckled when he hit the homerun? i agree with the other post that the only thing griffey has done is jump start konerko. maybe that was the point of the his acquisition.

Yeah, that's it. Great baseball insight. You must be an angry person; I feel sorry for you that the events in your life have led you to insulting people for no apparent reason. I guess that's what happens when you follow a losing team for oh so long.

Pleasssse you ac like the Sox are the NY Yankees with mutiple series titles>>> LOL. 1 Series, let me spell it for you just ONE. so far good news is that the series in 05 was not fixed like 1919. When the Cubs win 1 series what will be your excuse be?
