Instead of hair, these kids need a palm across their face.

It is great to celebrate men's 'coming of age'. This is a nice story of wholesome fun and male bonding. Not all the news has to be tragic or intense.

My son (16) is really trying to grow a mustache. He was very embarrassed with the signs of physical maturity at first but is finding more confidence now that other young men his age are shaving and interested in grooming themselves. Young men and women ROCK!

There is a cause worthy of facial hair growth.

Movember (http://us.movember.com ) has participants grow a moustache throughout the month of November to raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer research.

There are a number of moustaches popping up around Cap Square in support of the cause.

To see a 17 year old state "you have to respect someone with facial hair" is sad. Kid, you have a lot of growing up to do. Nobody is respected for facial hair. One needs to earn respect, and no one certainly is going to respect a cocky 17 year old for saying that.

I am all for well groomed facial hair; not for hair growing because someone is too lazy to groom. Hopefully, your new click will help you grow and mature.

I think it's humorous and light-hearted. I can remember high-school days when I was just getting a little black fuzz over my lip, enough to need a weekly shave but not enough to be able to grow a mustache; in fact I couldn't grow one until I was 30.

I was "blessed" (according to people that need to shave four times a day) with a sparse beard. I still couldn't grow a full one to save my life, and about three years ago I finally grew a goatee just to see if I could really do it. Being gray with little remaining black, my wife says it makes me look ten years older (which may be fine for these kids, but at my age funeral directors are always giving me their cards!)

Look at the bright side, at least they don't have tattoos on their faces. A beard can always be removed if necessary for a career or that "special" woman who is trying to change you to her standard of perfection. Then it can be regrown.

This is a wonderful attribute that these boys can put on their resume. I am sure all the selection committees at their college of choice will put them at the top of the list. This is fine in college but come on, this is high school.

It must be a slow news day.

Who cares when guys grow a beard.

If you are going to respect a guy with a beard at least respect one that knows how to grow one.

I don't mind them if they are well groomed and not shaggy (That just makes them look lazy).

If having a scruffy beard is the worse thing these kids do, congrats! It's just hair people.

Several flaws in this "story"...the Borat character is supposed to be from Kazakhstan and only has a mustache, no beard...and Rick Nash usually goes clean-shaven or full-beard now that he can grow more than a simple goatee.

Facts are facts.

This is most ridiculous. What respect is deserved toward these lumberjack punks just because they look like slobs? I respect the person deserving respect, not someone who commands it with the look - boys.

Is there an equivalent club for the girls? We may have a Title IX problem here.
