I THOUGHT THIS WAS LAST YEARS PRIORITY? NEVER HEARD SO MUCH BS - THEY (MAGIC) DON'T CARE, THEY HAVE THEIR $ FROM FOX AND A NEW ARENA!!!!!
The cable situation still is not resolved. While Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins told the Sentinel last month that it was the club's "No. 1 offseason priority" to help end the stalemate between FSN and Bright House to bring Magic fans local access to television games, the squabble still rages

The whole tv mess is unbelievable, while everyone is at fault (Magic, BH, FSN), the magic really should have taken care of the situation before signing a contract with FSN. Why would you want LESS people to watch your product????? They cashed their FSN deal already by mortgaging their future fanbase if they don't fix this soon.

Why would you want to be a cable customer when you have a choice of two satelite companies taht provide so much more. I left cable and went with Directv and will never go back.

Excellent follow up Kyle. More facts and mention of the TV squabble make this article a very nice read.
As far as the "prominence" factor I wouldn't say that 11 TV games make the Magic anywhere near prominent. But hey,it beats last year, heh!

Wow. What a great way to celebrate the 20th Anniversary Season, eh? Let's totally screw our local fans out of being able to see half the games unless they come to the arena!
Simple truth: Alex Martins is a liar!'#1 offseason priority' is/was/always-will-be 'how can we squeeze more $$$'s out of our TV deals and cut out even having to deal with the fans?!?'
You would *think* that for a franchise run by a man who made his $$$'s catering to CUSTOMERS they might actually show that they a) actually care about their customers and b) realize that with the economy being what it is they are better served by beaming their product into as many homes as possible.
Unbelievable!

what was is or was the most nationally televised games for the Magic? I remember only one Christmas game (Magic vs. Cavs,,T-Mac vs. Lebron). 11 is a nice step from 2, but not sure if I consider this prominence. I like that there are not as many back to back games.

Magics will not return to promminence because they trade away the only PG on the team. Magics will go back down this season.
Viva Arroyo!

Strange that a Puerto Rican jumps to Arroyo's defense. By the way, we didn't trade him. We just didn't want to resign him because he is average at best. You guys like him for the same reason I (a UCF fan) like Daunte Culpepper. He is the best player ever from your country, but he still sucks.

right now were ranked 6th in hoopsworld ranking of the eastern confrence. it speaks measures.
we haven't really bolstered up our roster. he have mostly shooters but not many defenders. we dont have a good pg that can be a pass first and then a good defender. we really dont have much at the center and power forward. signing foyle wasnt making much of a slapsh and if you add he's a vet and is a locker room leader type. we could have gotten that in mutombo is we could have thrown a little extra money in a deal. he's not willing to deal the hamster because he believe this guy is the messiah for some reason.
otis needs to make some moves or be fired. and we need a gm who isnt afraid of dealing even if it means looking a potential "core guy like say nelson, jj or turk.

That's good news...now would you like to let us all know where they ranked over the last 20 years? As I recall last year was 2 games. Not that anyone here watches anyway! :)

How did Arroyo's name pop up in this blog, good grief. Let it go already he's making a ton of money, let it go.
Call me crazy but I like that we where ranked sixed. Wait until jumpball, you know? The Pistons and Celtics are going to be at the top. but The Magic, Sixers and Raptors will all be around the same.
Othis does need to make a move though. Could somebody please tell me How JJ and Hedo are still on the team? We dont play JJ (sorry LMAO) and Hedo will be looking for a big contract come next season; I hear Europe a' calling. Are we going to hope that he takes less ala Dooling? Are we going to let him walk witout getting some value back?
He is in a contract year Otis, he will probably play better then he did last season.....however carzy that sounds unless we trde him it does us no good.

Turk turnover prone, he has limited defense, can be in consistent in crunch time. please i dont wanna here any more of this shyt about arroyo and what not IT FREAKIN DONE GET OVER IT. IF YOU CAN'T JUST SHOOT YOUR SELF AND SAVE US THE TIME OF HEARING YOUR PATHETIC COMMENTS. THAT OR GIVE ME A TIME AND PLACE AND ILL SHUT U UP.

No problem for me if JJ sits...$2 mil ain't bad to not have to risk injury for a loser team. The 1st East Conf. rankings I have seen are pretty much like mine from earlier on here. Theirs: Boston Cleveland Detroit Toronto Philadelphia Magic* 6th Washington Mine: Boston Detroit Philly Toronto Cleveland Washington Magic or Atlanta @ 7th Ho Hum...same old team again, and as far as Hedo goes, he stays because he had that good year, Otis isn't smart enough to figure out he's a soft closer just like Lewis. Never fear though a 40-42 team will make the playoffs! :)
