ATTA BOY FISH!!! Just keep winning series and things will work out just fine!!!!
Volstad looked like an ace in the making, D-was solid (until Danny tried to play right field in the 9th we still love ya though), bullpen looked good and some clutch hitting w/ 2 outs means impressive win.

Great win...I sense a winning streak coming soon...I don't like how Freidi manages though, he doesn't stick up for his players (ala John Boles) and always looks like a deer caught in the headlights...all in all though a great team to be a fan of...GO MARLINS!

Volstad looked terrific, keeping the ball down against a great hitting team. We miss Santana, thankfully, have the Cards coming here Monday, and 6 of our last 16 are against the Senators. So, we're getting thru the tough part of the schedule OK so far. Looks like 8 teams looking for 4 playoff spots.

Series win against the Phillies without a SINGLE LONG BALL!!! Things are looking up.

The home runs will sure come again = lets just hit a few and score a bunch on situational hitting as well.

Also the pitching is really beginning to come around and be more traditional Marlins like.

Traditional strong pitching - atypical dynamite offense - this could be the strongest team we have had for years!

Go Marlins - win it all again!

Good start to the Marlins road trip. Need to win two games or more in New York, or the trip will be a waste.

Top three players in Marlins history:

1- Jeff Conine
2- Josh Beckett
3- Gary Sheffield

What has happened to Uggla? He hardly ever gets a hit anymore!!! Maybe he needs a day off like Hanley. Tommy and Rich need to stop showing Hanley's stats with runners in scoring postion. We know he is terible this season in that spot. Read a good article on mlb.com about the guys down in the minors. Many of them are tearing up minor league pitching. Makes me wonder what our team will look like next season with so many guys due for a raise. Great win!! The mets pen is a mess. Be patient tomorrow and get Perez out of the game early!!!

I rarely think hitting coaches can accomplish anything, but maybe the time has come for Dan and Jamie to spend about an hour together with the message being "Go back to swinging hard. This half baked approach isn't working, you're feeling your way up there and that is no way to hit. One adjustment to make would be to look for pitches up early in the count".

Allan B., I thought they had ABSOLUTELY NO chance to win this game AND if you had told me they would score only 3 runs today, I would have said Pray For Rain!!

In a 3 game series in a bread box--too small to be a phone booth---they outscored the Phillies 11-7 with two of the Phillies 7 coming on bogus call.

This pitching staff is young, rested and don't know any better. this could become a lot of fun, BUT they have to start to hit, AND can't SOMEONE-ANYONE tell our alleged Superstar to move up ONE!!!!!!! inch on the plate so that he can see the corner. This is starting to border on INSANITY!!

If we don't get it done this year, which I think we will, the future looks Very promising with McPherson and others in the minors.A few strategic off season moves a we could be lights out next year!

... except that outside of Hanly, all the other good players are due for arbitration with means sayonara , thanks for the time, you go to a real team and we will start rebuilding again.

This is not pessimism - just us die hard long time Marlins fans have seen it all before .....

So Volstad treats it like another game. What is wrong with that? The Marlins pitching is coming around and there is no reason Uggla and Ramirez can not take them past the Mets and Phillies.
Why not this year?

But one must admit the Marlins are #1 when it comes to rebuilding. They hold "fire sales" when they win yet have two World Series victories and could make the post season again this year.
