Don't be surprised if Isiah stays with Knicks -- Basketball, Ne...

When his career was on the ropes in the summer of 2000, after his failed power play in Toronto and the CBA fiasco, Isiah Thomas needed someone to rescue him.

God, I hope this isn't true! If there was ever an organization that needed a complete and total fumigation, it's the Knicks! Thomas' contract is chump change to Dolan, so I can't believe they'd let him hang around because of that. He's got to go ASAP, simple as that!

Even Dolan not that stupid, isn't the point of bringing in Walsh is to get rid of this mutt Thomas.

I think you keep Isiah around as director of college scouting. Let him run your draft, but keep him out of sight. Drafting young players is the one thing Zeke's done well in NY.

Seems that Isiah has more lives than Rassbuten (sic).

The bottom line is Thomas has to go. Walsh looks like a puppet otherwise, and that means Daffy Dolan is still calling the shots- which is harzardous.

Fans want Isiah's head on a platter, plain and simple.

The stall is Dolan trying to get his money's worth out of Thomas. But it was idiot son who bestowed the four year extention last year. Saving face or recouping respectability is long gone.

Cut your losses already and if the Knicks go 0-81 next season its brighter at Garden without Thomas' spin doctering.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jim(I Am As Dumb As I Look) Dolan keeps Isiah (I Can't Coach For ****)Thomas. The people I feel sorry for,are people who have season tickets. If no changes are made, then you have to look forward to another losing season. It is a damn shame.

A team looses season after season and the coach stays... I don't understand it... Why anyone would goto a Knicks game with that bonehead as coach. Just don't buy tickets... Fans need to make a statement. Your paying his salary.

What do you have to do to get fired by James Dolan?
Make bad trade after bad trade? Nope.
Sexually harass coworkers? Nope.
Cost the company 11 million dollars in a lawsuit? Nope.
Lie publicly about Anucha? Nope.
Win less than 25 games with the highest payroll? Nope.
Cost the company tens of millions in publicity? Nope.
Oh I know how you get fired by Dolan.
Do a good job, be ethical, and report wrongdoing. Thomas appears to be safe.

Outside of firing Thomas and selling the team, here is how you fix the mess?

1. Give Utah whatever it wants (Curry and something else) and get back your 2010 first round pick. Utah's window to win is closing.

2. Trade Randolph and Crawford for future firsts and expiring contracts.

3. Get rid of the Jared Jeffries contract. Buy him out or package him in a trade with a useful part.

4. Try to go 0-81 next yr. The way to rebuild is to be terrible next yr. Use this yr's pick and next, get 35 million under the cap, and in 2010 sign Lebron James and the 2nd best player out there to max contracts. Then fill in your parts.

I think I'm going to puke. If Walsh is hired and let's this imbecile coach them again next year it will be a slap in the face to every fan who pays their good money to watch the Knicks.
It will also prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dolan is not only the dumbest owner in all of sports but the most evil b astard as well.

I agree with I Miss the Big Fella, keep Isiah around as director of college scouting. Let him run your draft, but keep him out well of sight. Drafting young players is the one thing Zeke's done well in his career. Ship Curry, Marbury and any of the assorted bums out of there ASAP

As previously stated I thought Walsh was a mistake as well. Now it appears the only reason Dolan turned to Walsh was at Isiah's request. Who better to cover Isaih's ass. Now the Knicks get a waste as a coach and a retiree to sit in name only so Zeke can continue to run the organization behind closed doors sort of like the Wizard of OZ, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. The league needs to get involved in this mess.

Isiah has proven not to be either a good coach or a good GM, to put it mildly. But he has proven himself to be an excellent evaulator of talent, IMO. His drafting of guys like David Lee, Balkman, Nate and Trevor Ariza would seem to support this. So why not put him in charge of the draft and scouting. We're paying him anyway, so why throw the baby out with the bathwater?

Unfortunately, Dolan really is that stupid. Funny thing is, he's so determined to prove himself right, that the further he goes with this, the dumber he looks (except he's too stupid to realize it).

Good of Dolan to have an open search and actually interview multiple candidates. Like West and Colangelo and Kiki and any other promising young GM.

They really know how to run a biz at MSG

Why would you let him run the draft?

His Channing Frye over Bynum really worked out right?

Wilson Chandler and Balkman have been stars right?

Nate Robinson is a great backup PG right??

Seriously. The guy is living off two picks made over a decade ago.

There are better people out in the field West, Colangelo, etc. Wonderful job Walsh has done lately in Indiana. If they bring back Isiah and New Yorkers go to the worlds most fruitless arena then me being a native nyer my whole life then I give up. Let me say this one more time DOLAN IS AN IDIOT, DOLAN IS AN IDIOT. I`m sorry I said it twice.

Throw Some future 2nd round picks and some cash in the mix to make that team happen,

Because that is a team that will have chemistry in the locker room and on the court
