And why do you need to explain this to us? If you know you're not "jealous" of the Ravens, why does it matter what we think?
And generalizing an entire team as "gangsters" certainly proves your credibility on this board.
I don't care if you're jealous or not. I don't care what your opinion is.

PS- the Yankees do have more to brag about. 26 championships to 2. It's simple numbers.
And the fact that you say that the Red Sox have "2 championships" to the Yankees' 26 shows YOUR lack of credibility. The Red Sox have won SEVEN World Series. And they have won two more recently than the Yankees have won one.

Ray Rice is short, but plays with heart. He's short, but the dude can accelerate. He's short, but he can break defenders' ankles like HOT SAUCE. He's short, but he can break tackles. He's short, but he's a very smart runner.
If you ever watched him at Rutgers, he follows his blockers and because of his small size, the 6'7 or 6'8 defensive linemen lose him behind the OL. and that's when he kills you as soon as he gets on an open field. Cory Ross is as short as Rice which tells us we have a height disadvantage in the HB area, but these young guys need to let Willis breath sometimes. LAST BUT DIFINITELY not LEAST, WILLIS BETTER BE IN SHAPE cuz we can't have him run outta breath like he did in 2007.

Shaun Alexander might be helpful if we don't have to pay the dude a fortune. An experienced back is always a plus!!

I wouldn't spend the veteran minimum for Alexander. Way too many carries.

A veteran RB isn't worth that much when late draft pick and undrafted rookies routinely are very good.

Ravens fans, please stop with the Jeremy Shockey and Alexander comments. As fans, you don't want injury-prone guys who are done on your team.

Having played the running back position, I feel confident that the ravens have the best running back core that they have ever had. Ray Rice is the real deal and will step in to complement McGahee. If McGahee has problems with staying on the field it will lead to further time on the bench , perhaps watching Rice. Last years case of being on the sidelines getting a IV is the last we will see of that.
Well, Jamal Lewis and P. Holmes were better than McGahee and Rice. WIshed we'd never made the trade for McGahee coulda used the 3 draft picks wisely. Lewis had better stats playing for the Browns, I am tired of our player that Ozzie lets go making them Better. Plus we spent $40m on McGahee and Lewis would have been a cheaper options so we might have had money to retain A Thomas or signed some other FAs.

Does anyone know why Willis seemed to be out of breath so often last year? Was he like that in Buffalo or at Miami? Its hard to believe he was out of shape.

We knew he broke his knee at miami...the bills didnt tell us he also had emphysema...I like the way he runs... best stiff arm since Earl Campbell.... but again...his numbers dont justify paying him and letting Lewis go..like I said Newsome and Decosta wasting money opportunities and years....and this show is just getting started.

Hey Rob,what's the pro football team you have in Las Vegas?yeah that's right you don't have one.No pro baseball team either, but you're going to get on a Ravens blog and make negative comments about Newsome and DeCosta.Grow some balls dude, and find some other team to rag on,we don't need you here.Let's see how this plays out at the end of the season, then you can make your comments,if you have the nads to show up.And Lewis showed very little the last year he was here, played much better in Cleveland, sometimes a change of scenery really helps and he looked in way better shape up there then he did for us.Are you a fan,or just a basher,I can't figure it out.New coach, some new talent,an actual competition at QB,there's a lot to be excited about.Ray Rice is the real deal, and Cody Ross is no slouch either.Go Ravens,I'm thinking 10-6.

Halotie Nagata Playing full back would be sick lol I think i read it in this article. What an absolute monster he is. If a Defense tries to tackle him you can bet they're going to have a dislocated shoulder in the process haha

Bills fans who posted on other boards warned Ravens fans about McGahee's lack of conditioning and the fact that he constantly took himself out of games. I found it ironic because the same thing used to happen with Jamal. They said that if we were complaining about Jamal sucking oxygen on the sidelines, wait until we got a good look at McGahee.(not so much about him sucking oxygen, but of always taking himself out of games right when he was needed the most) Apparently, they were right.

Are you Burt from Sesame Street? Rob is a Ravens fan who has been posting here consistently for quite some time who happens to live in Vegas. You have a problem with that?

Jeez, I thought it was something about being a Ravens running back. Maybe this will be the Flacco/Rice show like the LT/ Rivers show in San Diego.

I think McGahee will still be the primary running back. But I'd venture to say that the new coaching staff took a real close look at the tapes from last year, and had to be scratching their heads about all the times McGahee pulled himself out of games. Hopefully, they'll be more inclined to run a tandem backfield, like most other NFL teams have been doing for a while now. That never seemed to suit Brian Billick very well, back to the Priest Holmes days, through Chester Taylor and Mike Anderson. I'd actually like to see Rice, Ross, and Daniels get some carries along with McGahee. I'm also interested in seeing if McClain can have a more productive year this year than last. I'd heard great things about McClain, and the only thing that really stands out about him last year was his fumble in the red zone.

if you want to keep Heap healthy find a quaterback that can hit him in stride. I have seen the QBs throwing behind him so many times right before he gets mauled by the defense.

As was stated in an earlier article, many tight ends get let go in training camp. We can pick up a back up at that point. No need to pay bib bucks. Shockey would be very unhappy as a backup. Brady is just done.
O's fan from NY- Bullets no longer exist, and no self respecting Baltimore fan would ever root for the Irsay owned Colts. Don't go away mad. Just go away.

First of all, that's BULLSPIT that the attendance didn't drop until the 1982 strike. I remember all the games in the late 70's and eraly 80's when Memorial Stadium was half empty. Second of all, I didn't "Make a mistake" by sticking with the Colts, I proved that I wasn't a front-runner. The fact that you say that I "didn't realize my mistake" proves that you encourage front-running. Finally, you Ravens fans are psychotic like Yankee fans, whom think that they have more to brag about than the Red Sox. The Colts won the Super Bowl two years ago, including beating the Ravens on their home field. Then they crushed them again last year, 44-20, again on the Ravens home field. But somehow, I am "jealous" of the Ravens, a bunch of dirty gangsters that went 5-11 last year? GET REAL!!!
In general, a Ravens' fan is the same people supporting the O's, which is you right? Psychotic? Well, are ya?

I have been rooting for the Orioles, Colts, and Bullets since 1971. You're CONVENIENTLY FOEGETTING that the Ravens jumped ship from Cleveland in the same manner as the Colts jumped frpm Baltimore. The difference was, Modell had no such excuse as Irsay did. The "Dawg Pound" always sold out, 80,000 fans EVERY GAME in Municipal Stadium. Memorial Stadium in Baltimore had only 52,000 seats, and the Colts drew crowds as low as 25,000. The Baltimore fans didn't support the Colts when they were hear, and screamed bloody murder when they left. 25,000 fans showing up at games, and 3 MILLION fans screaming bloody murder when they left. That's a HUGE imbalance.
You only show your ignorance when you compare the two moves. You are in desparate need of a history lesson. Take your fecal opinions to a Dolts board!

Having learned about football as a child in SoCal, I was a "loyal" Rams fan until the move to St. Louis. Fortunately for me, I was living in Charm City when the Browns became the Ravens and have been a season ticket holder ever since. I can't understand the mentality of people who only cheer for the uniform. However, I do believe there is medication for it now.

It's better than the mentality of "suddenly" having a favorite team when a new team comes strolling into town. Keep your medication, pal. It sounds like the kind of stuff that Jim Jones gave to his followers in 1978. I'll pass.
