Whats any different, todd heap is still having problems with a hamstring.If you think for one minute that he will play in every game this year you are just kidding yourself. He use to be one of my favorite players on the team Oh well i better just leave on that note because i will get my self in trouble again.

Looks like we are going to be short again on TE's. Why not ask NYG what they want for Jeremy Shockey? A 3rd or 4th round pick for a pro-bowl TE to complement Heap would be nice for this offense.

I think Shockey would be a good fit...he's a lot more physical than Heap and together they could create a great duo but I heard the Giants are asking way too much for him. I also think we should take a look at Shaun Alexander. We don't have any big backs on our roster and he would add another experienced veteran who at the right price could become very valuable late in the season. Think about it late in games when we need to wear down defenses he could really be a threat along with Willis. |

Shockey would fit in well with his group of gangsters. He went to Miami, Fl. Peyton Manning needs to tell the offensive line to watch his back on October 12th, when we play the Ravens. We can do it again. Let's go Colts.

Well, the pickup of Ray Rice was nice, but I think -- and said at the time -- that it might have made more sense to get Fred Davis, the TE out of USC. This TE situation with Heap and the Ravens is just plain old.

Couldn't agree with you more. But as usual when you start talking about a favorite son like heap people will argue and argue with you just how durable and how many hard hits he takes . So trust me it's a losing proposition with these fans. But in my opinion he is injury prone so we will just leave it at that.

Having played the running back position, I feel confident that the ravens have the best running back core that they have ever had. Ray Rice is the real deal and will step in to complement McGahee. If McGahee has problems with staying on the field it will lead to further time on the bench , perhaps watching Rice. Last years case of being on the sidelines getting a IV is the last we will see of that.

I was surprised by this as well. I like Ray Rice but someone like Fred Davis would have filled more of a need. But also at the time we took Rice there were still a lot of talented WRs and DBs left on the board which were more need areas. I was kinda baffled when they traded down in the second round and passed over so many other good players to get Rice. The draft was deep for RB's this year so they could've gotten one later on. I mean Kevin Smith a 2000 yard rusher last year didn't go until like the 4th round. Although I like Heap his nickname should be Glassman, although a lot of his injuries can be attributed to Boller just lobbing the ball up into situations that were obviously going to get Heap killed!! We should get rid of Wilcox, he is more injury prone than Heap and is really only a solid player. I think we also need a good blocking/short-yardage TE. I don't know I guess what I am saying is that the Ravens could have handled this TE situation a lot better. |

Maybe, like with Cody's knees, Heap just doesn't have the kind of muscles that totally heal once they're injured. And once you start down that slippery slope of injury-proneness, it turns into a bottomless pit. I like Heap and everything he's brought to the table, but at this point in time, I think the Ravens have to at least find an alternative backup, given his injury history. Hearing that Heap was being kept out of the last day of practice just isn't what I wanted to hear. If it's just precautionary, great. If not...we better have some sort of backup plan. |

Like Bob I used to think heap was a great player, and he still is but he just can't stay in the game. If he takes 40% of offensive snaps that's a full season for him.
As for fred davis, did any of you catch that the guy SLEPT THROUGH A FULL DAY OF REDSKINS TRAINING CAMP. First day on his dream job and he slept through it! Couple that with the fact that most of the USC trojans in the carrol era fail in the NFL because they can't adjust to the Non SOCAl lifestyle and you have bust in the making. Rutgers was nothing before Ray Rice so I like his chances in the NFL |

You can use this same thinkinh wiht the drafting of Flacco at 18 - this was deep draft for QBs and quality QB could have been had in the later rounds. |

I am going to take this whole Todd Heap situation to another level. I am going on record this 12th day of may to say todd heap will have hamstring problems the rest of his playing days. We will be lucky to get 50% of snaps next year. When we drafted Mark Clayton he was another one with hamstring problems and he hasn'r played 100% since he has been here.

Now here's where I disagree with you. I am a Ravens fan and damn proud of it. I root for all the Baltimore teams and the city itself. Any sports team that moves away from Baltimore deserves to be excommunicated. And that especially includes the INDIA-NO-PLACE Colts! |

I love Heap as well but he is often injured, so I would say we need another top level TE, on the team that shockey trade thing sounds nice, but I worry about his ability to play well with others he has that baby syndrome that TO suffers from as well.
