I have to hand it to Booth, he is a man among boys...it's true. He's totally dedictaed, by far the hardest worker, and a future star in this league.

He started to shine when he came back from that boarding injury in Montreal. Before that day, he was progressing slowly, and was not even a good bet to stick with the team. I don't know if when he recovered after being wheeled off on the stretcher that he told himself that if he recovers he'll go "all out" or whatever, but it's a total transformation since that injury.

If Cohen were in his right mind, it is Booth he should resign longterm. He is the player that Nate Horton will never be.

After watching last nights game at the BAC, it is really fun to watch Jay Bouwmeester handle the power play. He is great at it, and I think he's actually over rated i his defensive play and his aggressiveness, and not given enough praise for his work on the PP.

Vokoun bounced back nicely, he had 8 quality shots that atleast 4 could have gone in even before the Panthers got one, and less than 10 minutes into the game.

Good effort, some of the "D" actually troubles me though. I thought Allen and Murphy were lacking a bit..but, a win is a win.

There were many times last night that a little more hustle would have made a big difference. I saw Nathan skating in circles waaaaay too many times.

HOWEVER -

Last year, The Panthers would have lost that game. The late penalty would have tranlated into a goal for the Thrashers, and we would have walked away with no points instead of two.

There have definitly been changes on this team. Is it the dominant, bone-crushing, net-shredding team we would all like to see?

No.

At least, not yet...

Good job, guys! Keep up the good work!

Let's take it to the Wild on Thursday night!

Why hasn't anyone brought up Booth as a candidate for captain? This guy gives it his all every night. He makes the most out of what he has, a great leader by example.

Sometimes when you trade your best offensive weapon, you become a better TEAM...like the Marlins.

You are not me..You are Mr.Oblivious..
This team was the same old team as last year.. The Rah Rahs come out after a no big deal win, but hide after a terrible loss..
It was the same old play as last year.. A struggle against Atlants and a bad outing against Carolina..
Lets see at the break...
Hey mr. Oblivious keep posting as me, I see you were run off the board..

That's too funny, any article for the Panthers in this paper should just say refer to Miami Herald for more information. The same paper who couldn't hold production to report on the Gators huge upset last night...paper said it ended too late to be included in the edition.

This is the truth;
Turned on 790-The Ticket tonight, and heard former Panthers goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck questioning the Panthers' talent at the center position. In particular, the Beezer called out Nathan Horton, calling him "a lazy skater" and "a lazy player."
There are too many lazy players on this team..It is the same as last season..

A W is a W. I was at the game last night, and the game wasn't the same as the game against Carolina. The Panthers seemed to have a bad start in the first period.

A penalty in the first 30 seconds of the game, then a 5 on 3 penalty kill. Then they seemed a bit confused for part of the second period (lack of communication) The third was just both teams playing the trap. The only time that I saw any action or good play was when Booth's line, and some of the time, Horton's line was out there. Stillman was trying to do too much, losing the puck a few times. Not a good thing.

I give this win credit to 2 people, Booth #1, and Vokoun #2. Vokoun was spectacular in the first period when the refs seemed to remember they can call alot of penalties at the BAC against the Panthers. Booth for playing with all his heart. I think that Booth should wear an A, not the C, because he needs to be groomed a bit, but is definitely a future captain.

Let's see how the Panthers handle the Wild on Thursday, and then play the rest of this month before we make any judgments. There is definitely improvement from last year from what I have seen.

I was pleased with the 3rd period effort.God help us if Booth gets injured.Ballard played well in the 2nd and 3rd period.Zednick made some nice passes and I wish he would pass more.We miss Matthias and Kreps on the faceoffs.Cory Murphy is an AHL player.Olesz had a flat effort.Dvorak
helped tremendously with his speed.Bouwmeester was good as usual and we will miss him.Vokoun played great and kept Atlanta from scoring on 4 golden opportunities. This team is better than last year overall and we need 3 more players like Cory Stillman to make the playoffs.I still do not understand why Matthias is playing in the AHL.I think McClean is proving to be a very crafty player like Stillman. At least they did not choke and came from behind to win which is good.Time will tell.We will get a real test with the Wild on Thursday.
