Yankee fans should be rooting for a
Rays/Phillies World Series with the Phillies winning it all. As a Yankee fan I am tired of hearing about Joe Torre this and Joe Torre that. Who cares about him? I don't get why any Yankee fan would care about him now. He was the Yankee manager for 12 years and it was time for a change. He looked like he was disinterested and almost sleepy managing the Yankees the last few years. He was never a great strategic manager. During the Yankee championship seasons Don Zimmer was sitting right next to him whispering in his ear and giving him advice. The fact that Met fans hate the Phillies and don't want them to go to the World Series is enough of a reason for all Yankee fans to root for the Phillies to win it all.

Well i am a yankee fan and i don't consider it a nightmare. AS a matter a fact, the fact that the red sox and rays made it to the alcs, proves that the american leage is the toughest division in the majors. I see it more of an explanation of why the didn't make it. Another point is that reguardless of who wins the world series it won't be the yanks, so who cares ?

It is no nightmare. The only reason why the Dodgers are this far is because of Manny because if they did not get him then they would have finished with an under 500 record.
The Phillies and the Rays will be in the World Series so that stupid dramatic nonsense of the Dodgers/Red Sox World Series will soon be forgotten about as it will not happen.
If it did happen -SO WHAT!!! This is coming from a Yankee fan. The Red Sox have a long way to go to match the Yankee's history and Joe Torre is meaningless now or should be anyway to most Yankee fans who should not care either way what his team the Dodgers now do.

The time was right for Joe Snoree to go! He took a lot of bows when they were winning and made himself the toast of the town, but when things went bad he took exception to being on the hot seat! Good bye and good luck! He should be cautious about taking too many bows right now. He ran a team that was 6 games over .500 in the weakest division in MLB. Hardly a reason to make a big fuss about him and his achievements. Let's see what happens if Manny walks next year!!!
As a long time Yankee fan, I always want the AL East to win if the Yankees don't. That being said, the AL East will definately represent the AL in the WS this year.

Not me Jim...I always root for any team playing the Redsox in the playoffs..to beat Boston..Angels was one of them..they went 8-1 vs.the Redsox during the season..and lay down and died in the ALDS vs. Boston...

Don't worry Paul. The rays are going to beat the red sox, think about it, the red sox have everything to lose while the rays have nothing to lose. The red sox are afraid of losing to the "lowly" Rays and that will be their downfall. Plus the red sox aren't as good as they were last year. And last but least, the rays proved they can spank the red sox in fenway like in that last series they played.

Oh how you loved Joe Torre when he was a Yankee! What has changed is that the Yanks aren't in the playoffs and it's because Joe isn't here. It's not Torre's fault that he isn't with the Yankees right now and I, for one, am rooting for him. He's proven he can manage the Dodgers, as well as the Yankees. Even Jeter is hoping he get to the World Series.

I can't stand the Yankee management for snubbing Torre and Clemens from the final celebration. They were both so important to the Yankees winning in the past decade. They should put all this crap aside and acknowledge Torre for what he is...a great manager!

He only became a "great" manager after he became a Yankee. Prior to that he was a loser, so was he a great manager or did he happen to manage great Yankee teams???

Clemens didn't deserve to be part of the final celebration..unless he admitted to roid use like Pettitte did for hgh use..but Clemens lives in denial..screw him.

Your right for the most part Jim..but Torre wasn't handed the same team with the Mets,Braves and Cards..like the Yanks..and he was perfect for that chemistry he had in NY..but is like any other manager in baseball..only as good as the players he has...Manny's arrival helped lift the Dodgers into the playoffs..but thats not saying much..cause of the weak NL west, like you pointed out...
