"Last season, the Sabres sent them home in six games; this year, it took just five for the Penguins, who will play the Flyers in the Eastern Conference finals."

So does that mean the Rangers will be swept in the 2nd Round next year?

Go ahead Ranger fans cry it up and blame the refs. And rip on those Islanders too; because that's about the only thing your good at....and it'll make you feel better about your ousted team!

Where was my beloved Gomez and Mr.Clutch? I thought "clutch" meant that he scores goals at important times? Maybe it means he clutches something else?

Great job all season from Henke. The Rangers need a punishing D-man for next year. Good for Korpikoski to get his first NHL goal, in his first NHL game.

The PP is attrocious. If that is not remedied next year, then the Rangers are going to have the same fate as this year. they will make the playoffs, but not go far with a 14%- 16% PP percentage. And that's being generous.

Couldn't agree more. Besides a big crease clearing D-man we need one who can carry the puck and run the PP.

We can also use some fans that don't boo us at the drop of a hat and know a little bit about hockey.

I think Shanny realizes that too. They guy has got guts, and is a true leader, but he can't keep up with the speed of this league anymore.

Blame it on Sather and his horrible scouting staff. Who does he pick up at the end of the season? Christian Backman. He's got to be the worst defenseman I've ever seen. Who does Pittsburgh pick up? hal Gill. What a difference. Sather and his staff havent drafted a goal clearing defenceman in years. His scouts dont know defenceman from *&^%. They pick Al Montoya first pick in the draft then trade him for peanuts. Pitt picks Fleury, look at them. The scouts pick the smallest forwards they can find and then wonder why they always get outhit.

I agree, unfortunately we got another year with Backman and his bloated salary. He is good for at least two turnovers a game. He is petrified of taking a hit. Would love to have seen Hal Gill on the Rangers.

Montoya never panned out as expected, but we got a goalie with the same amount of potential in return. So, I call that trade a wash. Wasn't good or bad. And Fleury was a no. 1 pick. Of course he had a brighter future than Montoya.

Resign Jagr and give Straka the benefit of the doubt - he is still a playmaker who had an off season - but I'm sure all the naysayers who said Jagr had nothing left during the season will say the same of Stracena. Sadly, Shanny should excuse himself but would love to see him in the organization somewhere.
First priority, the PP. Need to break it back down and rebuild it maybe with different asst. coaches. Get a #1 D-man who can QB - Campbell? puhlease!! Look elswhere. Absolutely need a bone crushing, crease clearing D-man. Oprik anyone? A scoring, power forward ala young Shanny would be ideal as well as finding a way to put another threat with Jagr so he can get some more space out there. I'd keep Mara and Rozi but not for ridiculous amounts of money.

while I'm laughing at the loser Rangers and their boastful fans, I agree that NHL playoff officiating suks. even the announcers have stated that Toronto has made it clear who they want to advance, and the refs call the game accordingly.

if the NHL had its way, the conference championship would have been Pitt-Rangers, but they couldn't manipulate that. the front office often gives the Rangers advantages, but in this case the dynamic duo proved too irresistible, so they got the calls.
