When i was growning up in East end there were no gangs. it was all about family. So it should be about family now. Also I am A Mike Vick Fan. I still too this day i do not believe he did it.

I'm tired of paying for illegitimate kids being born to uneducated young girls who just keep popping them out one after the other. I'm tired of paying for the upkeep and building of prisons to house those who keep right on breaking the law knowing they can go to jail for their behavior. I'm tired of the whacked out potheads, drug addicts and alcoholics that destroy every neighborhood they live in. I'm tired of people like you scraping the bottom of a cesspool to find an excuse to justify what Vick did to those dogs. I'm tired of hearing idiotic comparison of sadistic animal abuse to war, abortion, child abuse, hunting and whatever else you can think of to absolve Michael Vick of his crime.

But the 'dogmeat' should note that many shelters such as the SPCA, the Humane Society, and NO KILL shelters operate on donations, not her/his tax dollars.

What's really funny, is I bet if we KNEW the truth, Dogmeat doesn't pay ANY taxes, likely he/she gets a refund every year, even though he/she didn't pay a dime in.

Very interesting article, my only problem is the suggestion that violence, drugs, and black men being arrested at every corner is all that this end of the city has to offer. Also, to suggest that the name BAD NEWZ was born out of trying to keep lock and step with hip-hop is false also. the author not only doesn't know the difference between hip-hop and commercial rap, he hasn't the slightest clue that the name came about as a result of the crack epidemic of the eighties. notice, how the city was not called that until crack hit. we can argue all day about what came first the chicken or the egg. the fact is that this end of the city has been decimated by crack, violence and crime, and they go hand and hand, but i haven't seen an article yet, that discusses how many american cities weren't like this until crack came, and if they weren't like this until crack came, who put it there, and how can it be stopped. many people won't ask that question because they can't see that far into it, or they are too afraid of the answer.

Crack wasn't "put" anywhere. It was brought there and wherever else it exists by scum drug dealers who know there is a market for it in certain areas.

But I have to ask, I'm just dying to know who you think "put" it there.

I think you're right Jennifer. It really tweaks my last nerve when, once again, somebody who wasn't even around during those chaotic, civil rights marches, slavery, etc., feel they can use what happened "way back when" as an excuse for everything. These people set civil rights back at least 50 years.
