Sox lose 3-2 as Angels rally to prevent series sweep

2 out of 3 against the Angels ain't bad. Meanwhile, the Twinkies keep dropping the ball. Looks like the Sox may slither their way into the playoffs after all.

Game today you would like to have won.Swisher at plate with tying run on I knew game was over!Swisher not exactly the guy you want up with game on line with his Mendoza like numbers!Has hit some dingers but over all not a good hitter & a suspect fielder. Nick ,your a clown ,sox don't need a clown they need W's. Hopefully he can take his clown act someplace else in 09!Taking 2 of 3 is great versus Angels, but sox could of easily swept series! That is how I look at it this time of year, every loss can be huge now!Horacio is horrible! Typical outing for his gas can stuff! Nice Paulie is stepping up minus Carlos especially!

Paulie seems to have FINALLY regained his 2005 form, just in time to make up for the Q's injury.
If you'd have told me that in light of Quenten's loss that the Sox would take 2 of 3 from the LA LAA's and be 2.5 ahead of the Twinkies after today's game on Friday, I'd have taken it! And, they did! Go Sox in '08! |
|
I'll take 2 out of 3 against the Angels. The Sox have to pull ahead to make the final meeting against MN meaningless.
Go you White Sox! |

Danks can't buy a win.
Hard to to get it done when Eric Cooper makes our strike zone 30% bigger. TWINKIE TICKER 9.7.08 Twinkie Blinkie: Perkins and Bonser give up the long ball. Punto's error in the 2nd costs 2 runs. Tigers win 7-5 |
|
Ramirez has not been producing, and should only be used in mop up games. On the other hand, the rest of the bullpen has looked a bit better.
Still do not envy having to play the Twinkies in the hefty bag in a few weeks; we need a 4 or 5 game lead by then. The Twinkies play Kansas City 6 or 7 times at home this month, but also have to play in Tampa. This is not going to be easy, but this was not a bad series for the Pale Hose. |

That last strikeout of Swisher was a gift from the umpire. Instead of doing his hysterical dance, K-Rod should have slipped the ump a few bucks.

Was at Saturday night't game. The most exciting walk off homer I have ever seen!! Today's loss was not as bad as things could be thanks to the Twin's loss. They have to have absolutely the worst bullpen in the major leagues. Got to love it! They are at the point that they expect to blow the game after the 7th inning. We need to see the Sox take 3 of 4 from the Jays. They are due to start losing after 8 straight. An exciting finish is in store for Sox fans. Go Sox!!

Where is that Twinspride guy? He is beside himself with that bullpen in Minnesota!!

LMAO, Don! Your funniest comment on Twinkies fans so far this season! Keep 'em coming! Go Sox in '08! |
Dude you are a hater and not a real Chicago fan, so take your no understanding a** some where else. Nick Swisher is a good player in my so go blow yourself. |

I hope this homestand can get the bullpen back to pulling on the same rope. Without a top-notch bullpen you ain't going anywhere. I was impressed with Sox bullpen this weekend, they were used a lot. Good bunch of guys, they put the Sox in 1st and kept them there for most of this season when the hitting disappeared. Remember that? When the Sox just stopped hitting all at the same time? Fans thought the Sox would topple out of 1st much earlier on but with the resolve these guys have to not make this year another repeat of 2007, they've done dam*m good for themselves and Ozzie.
Hottest team in baseball the Jays are in town for 4 games starting tomorrow. Then those morons from Detroit. I see a big housecleaning for Detroit after September for those clowns. I worry about the White Sox road games because their recent road games were the worst they have played in a while. Keep winning series. The 3 road games in Minnesota at the end of this month has me worried the most. I hope Minnesota's bullpen will be totally shot and the White Sox get sharper and just please beat their a*s*ses. |

Hi Chico! We were there, too! I'm terrible--I saw Thome at the plate....15th inning....and I thought "oh great--not him." LOL! WHOOPS! A 15 inning game is nothing but a revolving door full of players! We laughed when Gene Honda abruptly announced: "Sox fans, it's time for the 14th inning stretch!!" Thome was at Cork & Kerry, at Don Cooper's WSCR show. Nice to hear him. He talked about his trip to Cooperstown when he took his 500th home run baseball to the Hall of Fame, brought his dad along, too. Jim said that usually home runs are mistakes, usually the guy at bat just wants to get a base hit. Well, he has over 530 mistakes! LOL! With many more mistakes on the way! |

Gotta love those round-trippers, but as the immortal bard with the initials H.C. once said ..... Oh for the long one ... with men on base.

what a great weekend. The Sox win a series against the Angels. Konerko's bat is now officially on fire, I beleive they said he's batting .400 in his last 10 games. The Twins got whooped by the Tigers.
I don't even have to talk about how awesome football was yesterday. had a great weekend. |

The HP ump was terrible, especially granting time twice when Danks was about to deliver. Swish could have at least swang at one of those pitches though. HP ump starting giving those strikes to LA mid game, but not to the Sox pitchers. Ramirez should have never gone back out after getting that last out. Otherwise bullpen is doing great. I'll take the 2 out of 3 from the Angels. Now let's take Toronto. And ya never know, KC may take some away from the Twinks too. |

It's football season. Who cares about baseball at this point, especially the freaking White Sox?
|
|
Obviously, quite a few White Sox fans do. Why do you bother posting a baseball comment during football season? |

On to the next series...
4 out of 4 would take care of business. EE-YES! 3 out of 4 would be nice. Mercy. 2 out of 4 is acceptable. Can o corn! 1 out of 4 is not acceptable. Hynie-bird! 0 out of 4 is out of the question. Dadgummit! GO SOX! Go BEARS!! |

Can someone tell me why Jermaine Dye
caught that foul ball with the bases loaded in the 8Th inning? He had no chance to get the runner, so why not let it fall and see if the Sox could get Anderson to hit into a double play? Both TV annoucers said it was the correct play, stating, "you don't want to give Anderson another shot", but, to me, it wasn't. |
