<quoted text>With me, Bulger has this year to produce or he`s gone. He really needs to spend time in the weight room pumping iron. He gets hurt too ez. I didn`t get things in the draft that I wanted but there`s too many holes to fill. I did hear something that finally did make me happy, Whose two WR, they got in the draft, are suppose to TUFF with alot of YAC. Hopfully no more catching the ball and looking for a place to take a dive!!
Yes I agree that Donnie Avery is a STUD!!!!

As For The D-line..Do far we'd be looking at
DE:
M.Johnson (Wouldnt work cause hes too small to play on the line in a 3-4)
G.Selvie (same as Johnson)
T.Jackson (Would love to pick him up - like Adam Carriker only faster)
G.Middleton (16 sacks last yr...)
DT:
A.Woods
S.Marks
F.Moala
D.Granger
M.Pryor
T.Taylor
I really think they will add Booger McFarland if he gets himself physically fit. Another O lineman might be a bad idea tho.

He probably just tweaked it a bit. A pulled hamstring is a 4-8 week injury if everything goes well. I've had two of them and they are a b!tch.

Josh check your stats. If you knew the Steelers you would know that the stopping the run is traditonally an integral part of their game and has been for many years. On the other side of that coin...traditionally running the ball is also an integral part of the Steeler game and has been for many years. The facts are there.
As for last season, Willie Parker led the league in rushing before his injury. He was also voted to the pro-bowl. He/the Steelers did not have a complimentary back to take over in his absence. The addition of Mendenhall this season is viewed as a solution to that problem. The hope is that the Parker/Mendenhall combination will give the Steelers a 1-2 punch like you have in MN.
IMO I believe that your Vikes are an up and coming team. This could be the year you make it to the playoffs.

the only reason i dont think that the steelers will have the best run defense is because they were third and didnt add anyone to that defense and the vikings were first and added jared allen. most people think he is just a pass rusher but he also a pretty good run defender. on the other side of the ball, yeah willie parker did lead the league in rushing before he got injured and adding mendenhall was a very good move. and i do you hope the steelers have a good season b/c i do like em'. the only thing that i can see holding them back from having a running game like my vikes is the steelers o-line. yeah they added a good center in justin hartwig but they also lost alan faneca who one of the best guards in the league due to free agency. i hope it doesnt effect em' but it does kind of worry me. hopefully mendenhall has a good season but there is no way he should of fell to the steelers because the bears should of taken him. but mendenhall is the bears loss and a steelers steal. but i will definitely be rooting for the steelers and the vikes. i cant wait til the season starts because i am already tired of all the trash talking packer fans.

I can see them signing Booger McFarland and he would be an awesome pick-up...

But i dont know if he can't get in good enough shape to pass a physical and if he does get in shape will he sign with the steelers or will someone else give him a look.

What's the deal with Big Booger anyway? Is it his injury hasn't healed or what?

All information that I've read has him to being very receptive to becoming a Steeler. His agent even said that. IF he gets healthy I think they'll all come to agreement.

Hey Jopa. I believe he is recovering from knee surgery. I don't remember the details, but I think he tore it up pretty good.

I wonder how bad it is right now. I mean, if I could not fully extend my leg, I would not have gone in for the physical or signed anything, knowing I could not pass. I would have gone to my own doctor and asked if I could pass or something like that.

It may have been a prospecting visit to the FO initiated by Tomlin who knows him. If I remember the news stories correctly...it was 1st reported that he had signed. That report was corrected a day or two later that he had'nt passed his physical. Booger was ecstatic according to his agent and it seemed likely that an accord could be reached when and if the doc gives an AOK.
Camp is gettin closer now so the Boog will have to be in great shape in addition to the knee to be signed. He should would be a welcome addition tho IMO.
Hey Jopa. Were you Rochester?

Hate to ruffle feathers. But Dick hasn't been the same defensive co. he has been in previous years. The "Velcro Defense" shit needs to stop. Stopping gap shit at the line does nothing for us when we need to be sacking the QB. He needs, with his talented young LBs, to attack the QB, not blocking the run at the line of scrimmage. He has the tools now to become a good pass rush defense. He needs to implement it. Our sacks per year have gone down in the last 3 years. If it doesn't change, I hate to say it, but "Lebeau must go". Timmons and Woodley are biting at the bit to rip that QB's throat out. LET THEM!

Perhaps Lebeau is too old school. I don't know. But his defense failed time and time again last year. Not because of our failed and old line, but because he chose poor blitzing packages. There...i said it.

I know I'm probably gonna attract a mob because of my words. But I think, unless Lebeau changes his stance, we'll be a second rate defense at best next season.

Oh...and lets be honest here. Bruce Ariens screwed up a lot of plays last year. Clock management was the main reason we didn't get farther in the playoffs last year. BECAUSE of him. Tomlin is a young coach, so i can forgive him. But Ariens...he'd better prove his worth this year or he's a stain in my book.

We have a STRONG offense and an even better (yet weakly backed up) defense. If these guys can't make the best out of what the have...they're never going to.

Offensively, we should have dominated last year. Even rivaled the Patriots for points per game. We were held back. By Ariens, if you want my opinion. Tomlin is a good coach, but he relies too much on his coaching pen. If Ariens doesn't succeed next year with that many good players in his bag, he needs to go. Just like he was fired from the last team he was with. He needs to let Roeth and Hines and Parker and Holmes work shit out. If he continues on his ridiculous onslaught of botched timing and bad calls in close games late, I vote he goes bye-bye.

He's had the opportunity, its time now to put him under the microscope and find out what kinda coach he actually is. If he can't make a RB pen of Willie Parker and Rashard "The Rocket" Mendenhall work, OR if he can't make Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Limas Sweed, and Nate Washington make any success...we need to consider a quality offensive coordinator. Not him.

Just my opinion tho. I could be wrong, and could be proven wrong this next season.

My point is...both coordinators need to step up, or we'll be in for a world of pain come fall.
