GREAT PRODUCT

Love how the newspaper always find something bad to place in the end saying zero evidence.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the product from Phiten. It actually works great and have saved my chronic back pain that was not possible with a chiropractor.
I personally love the lotion and back brace, but the tape is good also (only reason why i love the lotion is I can place it easier then tape)
The water (gold) also are great to balance, as us human have a lot of water in our body system, proper hydration with balance is the important key i believe
Just wait until Longs get their 20 - 25% off sale and its a great deal! Thats when I stock it up.
and if it was zero evidence... and this many Result with many people in the world.. is that not a evidence? Just wondered.
btw, i wish the design of the t-shirt or pants has more variation... I just can't bear the design of the t-shirt.

Yup, it helps. But funny, I can use the discs and tape, but I feel weird when I wear the necklace.

Yup, Phiten works. But it works different for everyone. Some people might "feel" it, others won't. But most people who try it end up using it. Go visit Paul at the Phiten shop right across Ala Moana, he and his crew take care. All kine neat stuff there.

Star Bulletin: a shameless huckster and snakeoil sales rag.
All the hype about how great titanium is, with only one brief mention at the end of the article about reality: "THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE".
Not coincidentally, ZERO also is the level of Star Bulletin's credibility after this bs.
C'mon, we know that SB's journalistic level is target toward a juvenile audience (ironic since they don't read), but this is stooping to lower lows!

It works if you believe it works.
But to prove it works a double-blind clinical trial would have to be conducted where no one knows which item has the titanium and which doesn't.
At the end of the trial period, the coded items are de-coded and the results analyzed.
The power of suggestion can be a powerful thing. Combine that with a good sales pitch and you have a winning combination.

I don't think this is a "new low" for the Star Bulletin--the writer does mention the 'snake-oil' factor for such trends in heal-all products. But any mentioning of a product can either be positive, neutral, or negative. The key issue here is the success of this company being BASED on unproven claims, and its rise to high-visibility in the international athletics arena. I'd like to see more in the health & fitness section exposing these products and companies. It's also interesting that PHITEN is expanding so successfully in Hawaii.

You people who believe in this stuff are suckers! You are biting it hook, line, and sinker, and the people who are selling this stuff is making a killing off of you suckers!
People who say that titanium "works" are giving too much credit to this metal, and not enough credit to the power of the human mind. The "placebo effect" is VERY real. If you truly believe that something works, then there is good chance that it will. This is why scientists must conduct "double-blind", clinical trials that use both a "control" group and a "treatment" group.
People selling this kind of product know that they can make a fast buck on the desperate and the naive. If this product TRULY worked, then they'd put it through a human trial, prove that it works, and then they would REALLY make the big bucks! But they know if they ran it through a clinical trial, it would fail. So they are content with making money of the suckers of this world - and there are MANY suckers in this world.

What is UH Manoa doing promoting this product through the athletic department? Sure, they're getting paid to do it, but since when was the University's academic integrity up for sale! I hope that Chancellor Hinshaw, who is a very respected microbiologist and surely knows that these products are a hoax, will stop Manoa's shameless involvement in promoting these product.

Ok, Kimo, fair enough. Your statement is logical to me. I'd say, if it helps you (or you THINK it helps you), then fine. AS long as it doesn't hurt, I got no problem with it. AFter all, the worse it could do is make your wallet a little bit lighter. But what I DO have a BIG problem with is when people who sell products such as these start making PROMISES to people that it will cure all of their ills and pains. And I absolutely HATE it when these people PREY on other people's pain and desperation - especially when they rip off elderly people. My main point is this, Kimo. If this titanium REALLY works, then why not just put it to the test by doing legit medical research with it? After all, if research supports that it works, then the people who are selling it will make even MORE money. But they don't run it through a trial because they KNOW that it would not show any positive results.

I don't think there are any "Mistakes" in partnerships, plus, the article clearly states that it is a straight trade-deal-UH is not getting "paid" to "endorse" the company--its just for exposure, for advertising.
Universities are, in general, involved in a lot more discrete and lucrative 'deals' than we probably want to know about. This one seems pretty benign if you ask me.
There are MANY signs in the UH stadiums.. everything from Mobiphone to... etc, etc.

I also agree with Rasta Man above-- Yes, I think at some point when reaching this degree of popularity, the company will have to take some responsibility for the naysayers and do some 'legitimate' studies on the efficacy it promises.
This article reinforced the fact that these companies are successful, growing and expanding DESPITE the 'snake-oil' aspect of their products!
