I think the sox have earned a year or two of "Luck" based on their past history don't you? Lester's 22 2/3 inning post season scoreless streak doesn't hurt either.

There is no such thing as luck. For 87 years the Sox had either sub par teams or nearly great teams but never the best team because the were a poorly run franchise. The yankees during this time period defined excellence and reaped the rewards. Lately the Sox have done well under new ownership. Great management, a great farm system, savvy trades and deep pockets add up to one of the best two or three teams in the Bigs. This is not luck, it's hard work. Nobody in the majors got there and stays there by luck, no team wins consistently by it either. So pull your Yankee loving head out of your arse, turn your hat around, pull up your pants and get a clue.

Always trying to avoid the looming large shadow of NYC where they don't roll up the sidewalks when the sun goes down. It doesn't matter that the Rays won the Al East division, it's the Yankees that didn't. Inferiority complex supreme ... for generations.
