Even scheduling a game at that cursed ballpark will take its toll on your team so it seems.

If it wasn't for Khabibulin it would've been 8-2...I'm chalking these two games to the other teams playing their home openers and being fired up..Now if the Hawks lay an egg Monday against the Preds at the UC then we may have a problem.Last years momentum certainly didn't carry over...Eh, it's still way to early. Go Hawks!

I'm here Tony! Yes, it is still early, but holy cow, what got me the most yesterday, and Friday for that matter, was the lack of pressure.....or checking. I don't like watching our players skate backwards into their zone, with the opposition approaching, and we don't poke check the puck away from them. It happened both games so far. Seems the dump and chase is back too. I agree with you though, Khabibulin did his job best he could, and it woulda been a total blowout if it wasn't for him. Hopefully the red carpet event tomorrow will get these guys fired up.

This game was a blowout but for Khabibulin. The Hawks could muster only two soft goals, and were outhustled, outhit and outskated for about 55 minutes.

The only guy to play with any edge at all was Burish. Savvy still has no clue of how to put even a marginally decent power play on the ice.

The Hawks had better quit reading the pre-season press about how good they are. A couple more games like this and they'll be in a big hole that in this conference will be a very tough climb to get out of. They aren't in a weak division like Washington where you can wait half a season and still win it.

A team with two Number 1 goalies is a team that really doesn't have a number 1. Huet looked weak, Habby looked typical, making some good saves and then losing concentration and letting in a game winner. So far 0-2, giving up 4 goals a game and scoring two. Man the playoffs are looking further away then all the hype predicted. So much for defense..We looked sloppy with the puck on our end....wake up Hawks....Show us the promises..

No telecast on the WGN superstation (or DirecTV's version of it anyway). Who am I supposed to be pissed at?

What kind of fair weather fans are posting this morning? Yes starting off with back to back losses isn't what we wanted to see but it's not quite time to panic. Give Savard a chance to get his power play working and the goals will come.We wanted guys like Campbell and the Hawks went out and got them. We have Kane and Toews the 2 best sophmores in the game, we have good goaltenders. We expect a lot and we put pressure on the team to perform so lets give them some support when they need it. Wish I lived near Chicago so I could be there for the opener but if you listen you will hear a lot of loud support coming from London, Canada on the first home game.

We got the same raw deal up here in London. I blame the Leafs for our problem because we live in their "" MARKET AREA"" so we can't even get Montreal's games unless they are on the national contract broadcast. Sure we get almost all the Leafs games and if they had a real NHL team in Toronto instead of a hockey joke it wouldn't be that bad but 82 games with these clowns is enough to get me looking for a darts tournament to watch.Oh wellI guess I can go down to Ottawa and watch my grandson play Atom hockey, it's better than the Leafs.

Gary Bettman..He's the reason why the WGN games aren't shown nationwide and only Locally because from what I understand it cuts into Center Ice for some odd reason...Maybe someone out their can fill in the blanks on this. WGN HD, The Superstation, WGN America ect ect..I liked it better when it was just little ole WGN...

It's way too early to read very much into the '08-'09 NHL season in my opinion. Let's wait until November to see if any patterns are developing. Obviously, as a Blackhawks diehard, I am a bit disappointed. I agree with Tony about the home openers. Teams at all levels get pumped up. The Hawks will be fine. April is a long time away. I would love to see a lot of early season wins like everyone else. My quick analysis of last night's game: Shoot the puck more and don't try to be too "fancy". Put the puck on net and look for rebounds and loose pucks. Crash the net! That's what we are all taught from the time we first lace'em up. Yes, pass the darn thing, but shoot!! Khabby was fine. Campbell really changes things: Glad he is back there! Get Nashville Monday night. Go Hawks!

Paul: I couldn't get the game on WGN on my cable package. I did however, get the game on the Center Ice Package on DirecTv. I got the Caps broadcast team. They also said the Hawks were not shooting enough. Too many little slick passes.

After watching last night's game, I realized just how small we are physically. The Caps looked like giants against our forwards, especially in the corners and on the boards. There's lots of work to be done, no doubt. The D looked awful, despite a nice effort in goal from Habbi, and the entire team looked in disarray after the first intermission. But, to loosely paraphrase Billy Shakes: Two games doth not a season make.

Khabi looked good.

No one clears the crease. Who is the defensemen coach?

Passing doesn't look that great this season so far either.

0-2, and counting.....

Tony's pretty much right about the local viewing and a national WGN blackout. Direct TV's "Center Ice" package (which I have so I can watch the Hawks) takes precidence unfortunately. If they were to show all the games nationally on WGN, then I wouldn't have to pop the $200 beans on Direct TV. And the Commish couldn't allow that to happen...

I was disappointed with the play of the team in the 2nd and 3rd period. They need to clear their zone more often and since they didn't do that last night Washington put in a few soft goals. Khabby and Huet both need to step it up and play like they are being paid. I am not worried it is only 2 games and they were against very good teams. Lets go Hawks you need to kick some *** Monday night.
