Sign defense players please???

Weeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaak.....good thing we didint lose half our defensive players, cause then you know, we might need to adress that issue!
We did address our loses with Pitcock, Hughes, Session, and Hall. Session and Hall should be our future at linebacker, Pitcock will be our future at DT, and Hughes could even start this year. Ugoh will replace Glenn next year when his contract is up. |

Get experienced linebackers and especially D-backs/corners rather than Tight ends. I think that we now have 6 T-Ends.
How many tight ends do we need? They talk about needing depth at CB and safety and they have 6 tight ends on the team. WTF?
Don't worry, some will get cut during the roster trims.

Relax....He probably won't be around for the regular season. He is padding for pre-season!

Don't you just LOVE how people write in here like they actually know something about running an NFL franchise? It's just too bad there aren't hundreds, or even thousands, of teams so these guys (or gals) could run one? I mean, what's Polian ever done? What? You say he's built 6 Super Bowl teams (4 Buffalo, though he wasn't GM when they went to the last couple, 1 Carolina, 1 Indy)? How could he have POSSIBLY done it without all this quality input?
My guess is these people would have terrible teams that were always in cap trouble, shedding all sorts of stars to stay within the cap, with lots of dead money. I'll take Bill Polian. |

He is a big tight end. He probably has good blocking skills, and if he can catch the ball in the middle of the field, this will be another weapon for Peyton.

There are players who just need the right system and coaches to succeed. Remember, Jeff Saturday was working construction before the Colts brought him as an unsigned player into camp and look what he has done with the right opportunity.
Dominick Rhodes was an unsigned player that just needed an opportunity. Give Polian his due, he has a knack of finding quality players that no one else wants. |

1 - 5 super bowl record. Fantastic. Can tight ends play defense? Let the big boys talk. Thanks for playing. |
Polian just won the Super Bowl with players he PICKED, while you pi$$ and moan like a four year-old girl. Polian is a genius and you're an idiot loser who spends his time on the internet flapping his idiot piehole. Wake up, hillbilly redneck. Polian is one of the top 3 geniuses in the NFL, while you're a loser nobody that can't ven get a job as a towel boy in the NFL. |

TE's are catchalls for the Colts. They usually carry several...guys who can long snap, block a linebacker, play special teams and can keep a LB busy during a pass play. Actually being able to catch it becomes a bonus.

just like a pats fan! GAY? Not even smart enuff to come up with a 4-letter word!

Does everybody here assume because we sign somebody now that they will be playing this fall? Get a clue. We could sign 20 tight ends to a contract if we wanted to. So what? Doesn't anybody realize these are just players that will compete for a job during summer camp. The contract doesn't mean squat, it's just a formality in case we actually end up keeping that player - but the fact is, most of these no-name players can, and probably will, be cut before the final roster is set. So please, please stop getting your panties in a bunch, and become an informed fan. Some of you almost make it embarrassing to come and read these forums...
Geesh. |

Please. You can avoid the issue by making unfounded personal attacks but the truth is Colts need to shore up the defense. People would not be saying Polian is a genius if Colts had lost in the Super Bowl this year. It's painfully obvious that Polian has focused all his attention on offense without trying to improve the defense. Please, let the fans who go to the games and follow the Colts discuss on here. |
Can we just get along? You both had valid points...to a degree. Yes, Polian is very talented at what he does. He can pick talent as well, or better than anyone. No argument there. But he's no more a genius than I am the next coming of Don Juan. The term ~genius~ is overused and losing it's luster, the same way ~superstar~ and ~hero~ have been lost their meaning. ...on the other hand, it's NOT painfully obvious Polian only gives the offense luv. Be for real dude. Yeah, maybe the defense isn't all that, and that it needs help badly, but it isn't for a lack of trying... |
