Hey if you're a Penn State fan and feel sorry for Jerry Sandusky and his lover Joe Pa then that's your perogative. But are you aware that your Nittany Lions have NOT won a football game since 1997. I mean the last time they won a game Bill Clinton was still President and Paterno was just learning to use a cam corder..wink! wink! MY gut tells me Joe Pa knew what his lover was doing behind his back all aong. Once BUBBA gets done with Sandusky and all is said and done, then maybe he can join Paterno in Hell and they can catch up on old times. Yes Penn State has the longest losing streak in the nation..Hell actually it's all time! The Ohio State!

Sad Deal wrote: These unfortunate, despicable events that has transpired have not only confirmed what I suspected all along. That the powers that be in politics, universities, and etc, will gamble future consequences against their own personal gains. As much as I admired Joe Pa, and still do, as a whole... when you look at the good and bad in ones life ( I say his good still outweighed the bad.) Why didn't he force the issue? When the faculty did nothing, I just wish he would have brought it to the attention of the authorities, press, anyone who would listen. Scream it off a hilltop. Anything, to bring a monster to justice, when others wouldn't act. Although he reportedly told it to his superiors, and obviously nothing happened, I suppose it's easy for us to judge now sitting behind our computers. The reports proclaim him guilty. But when he reported what he was told, what did he hear from his superiors afterwards? For instance : "That we checked into it Joe, it was all B.S.?" I'll remind folks that HE didn't see it actually see anything take place. He went off another persons word. Did he accept the B.S. told by him from a superiors (after he reported it), because he truly didn't want to believe that his friend (he thought he knew for many years)... could do such a thing? Much to his relief? Possibly. We don't know, we're taking news reports as truth, and that can be a mistake. One thing I do know is: besides those unfortunate victims, kids are still paying the price for something happened a decade ago at the university. Young student athletes lives are about to be thrown in a whirlwind by the NCAA, for something that they had absolutely nothing to do with, and have no control over. Why punish the guilty? Lives? The point of a University is to educate, not entertain. Football (or any other particular sport for that matter) is an EXTRACURRICULAR activity. In other words, not NECESSARY for the existence of the university. AND if you DO want to blame an institution for throwing young STUDENT athletes (and lets face it, it's more specific than that, it's the FOOTBALL program, not other sports) "in a whirlwind" then the proper institution to blame is PENN STATE, not the NCAA.

"Education over Football"? Then why don't you punish those schools with low graduation rates? Stupid EMMERT! This is like punishing your children for what the parents did! A very stupid logic from as*hole like Emmert! Fking Mark Emmert will pay for this! He too will learn a lesson! Abuse of power, even by the justice, is as criminal as breaking the law, breaking the code or shaming humans! From this point forward, the NCAA and its building in Indianapolis is a target!

Any football athlete that brings guns or drugs on campus, the football program should be killed! Any football program with graduation rate less than 50% should be banned from competition! Any football athlete that receives compensation or services from a community, the football program should be on probation! Any football assistant caught drinking while driving should be fired and the program suspended for one year! Any football athlete who attempts to harmfully and intentionally injure another player should be send to prison! Any coach or coaching assistant caught in extramarital affairs should be immediately fired and all the wins under his supervision vacated! With regard to the NCAA: Uneven application of punishment for the same or similar violations, the NCAA staff will be target of retaliation Disproportionate punishment for minor violations, NCAA family members are target of retaliation Uneven punishment of conferences for similar violations, NCAA building is a target Contradiction between public statements and actual actions by NCAA staff, both NCAA staff and their immediate families are target! Total disregard and no apologies for abuse of power will be met with actions and indiference to teach humility and the relationship between action + consequences. A violation of the casuality rule by NCAA staff (disconnect between fixing a problem and the actual outcome of a punishment) an example of this rule will be applied to their families!

Ii do think the penalty was swiift and just, but there are students athletes who are paying the price now. The NCAA should allow any player under scholarship a waiver for transfer to compete without any restrictions. I know if I played there, I wouuld not want to stay, for reasons of what went on, and that a need for rewards through competition, that no longer can be gained now.
The big ten needs to remove penn state, and move on. Just let the players move on too.

True, the point of a University is to educate and not entertain. But also when a person gets established in one spot and had their hearts set on something, it's difficult to be dislodged from your intended plans to take up roots somewhere else. Let's face it, these young men (kids)... who are in the "football" program as you have reminded me, some have the talent to go on and play in the next level and make a descent living playing a game. Now as it stands, their chances will be increased by playing elsewhere at another university, when they possibly had their hearts set to play for Penn State. For some of them that is their home state. All for something that was not their fault. Sure, some of the upper class-men will stick with it, mostly out of loyalty. But if you can't see how these young mens lives aren't affected in someway,(and their families).. then you are apparently blind, or just possibly have a unnatural hatred for the college. And the institution itself is not to blame for these tragic events that have occurred, it was the people in power at the time that chose to cover them up. The institution is mainly made up of students and faculty members teaching the students. Just because you have a few bad apples at the top of the barrel, does not mean all the apples are bad.

As a Ohio State fan myself, as well as from the state of Ohio, you are an embarrassment to the school who's name you're unfortunately representing. If you can't come up with anything more intelligent than the vile post(s) that I've seen , do all of us a favor from Ohio or anywhere for that matter, and simply quit posting. Besides, it's not like O.S.U. is running with a squeaky clean record concerning its athletics department right now is it? People that live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones.

It is time that we all grow up. We go to college for education ---not a damn foot ball team! I hear many defending Penn State and will bet this runs rampant through so called instituions of higher leaning! If I had a degree from Penn I would hide it from view!!!
When a school receives high financial rewards for something that is so useless - football - then you see the VP and others hidding bad conduct for the money....no wonder some of the corporations have ethical issues, as the leaders learned the behavior from the best.

From this point forward, the NCAA and its building in Indianapolis is a target! #1, Why not question those with low graduation rates? Because even schools with low graduation rates aren't protecting child rapists, if they are, then yes, punish them too. #2, This is not like punishing children for what the parents did. First off, NO children attend Penn State, only adults. Second, they still have a football team, and a regular season they are free to participate in. Current members keep their scholarships (the real reason any college football program has an validity in relation to an educational institution) and continue on with what should've been their #1 priority in the first place. An EDUCATION! Football is NOT some necessary part to the existence of a University, if a University allows it to become one then, THEY are at fault. BOTTOM line is this, the institution of Penn State needed a very undesireable consequence for what occurred there, the NCAA did an excellent job of giving Penn State that while still allowing the student athletes a football team. You watch all of the new policies come out this and next year regarding this issue at Universities throughout the nation and the proof will be in the proverbial pudding.
