WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?Shaq is often a good, charitable member of the community in any town he has played in and has had a great career. He, like some other more mature ballplayers, hates the ignorant, thug culture now dominating the NBA, something the Pat Rileys of the world not only allow, but promoted. Whether its the Heat, the Indiana Pacers or a few other teams, they are "teams" only in the sense a street gang is a "team". Now that Bird has a free hand in Indiana, lets see what happens there. Maybe we can replace Riley with Bobby Knight.

Downtown, 9mm packing, gold grilled, barely intelligible thugs, whose idea of a nice night on the town is a topless bar, a fawning crew of armed morons and a little weed. Just because they arrive at such gatherings in a Bentley, it only makes them richer, not better than the pimps and dealers they hang with. That, my friend, is what I am talking about. At least in Indiana the best Hotels have banned those fools after too many "shots fired" whenever the Pacers arrived to party. Just wait, you will miss the smiley old giant and his superman tatoo, as the human quality of the Heat decreases every years. Or maybe being "true" the the hometown team matters more than the character of the players and the coach. |

To all Phoenix Suns fans - in a couple years you're all going to hear from Shaq how Steve Nash was the worst point guard ever, that Amare Stoudamire was over-rated, Grant Hill should have retired, and that his Suns never won a championship because they couldn't play D...!

He did the same when he left LA.
Dr. Buss made the right move in trading Shaq. The players that they ended up with (Jordan Farmar, Lamar Odom) have put the Lakers back in title contention for several years. So long Shaq. Watch Kobe win more than one title back in Tinsel Town. |

Shaq is right but he should keep it to himself

SHAQ IS A BITTER ELDERLY SENIOR CITIZEN. HE NEEDS TO STOP TALKING ABOUT OTHERS AND LOOK AT HIMSELF. HE'S THE ONLY ONE THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN IDIOT IN THIS STORY. STOP CRYING OR I'LL CALL A WAHHHHHMBULANCE ON YOU.

I thought we were getting something pretty spectacular 3 1/2 yrs ago when Riley brought Shaq in, even if he was on the downside of his career.
His contributions in helping the franchise win a Championship helped Miami gain respect in the league, unfortunately, over the next 2 yrs, "Mr. 20 Million Dollar/Year Man" chose to sit on his laurels and do little if anything to help his teammates opting to complain and fake injuries (not getting enough touches)- how absurd. With someone that big and that strong he could make the game into what he wanted instead of waiting for the game to come to him. Someone getting paid 20 mil a year should be out there hustling not complaining. Now, after getting traded to a contender he complains about the Heat and Riley - this sorry excuse for a man is never happy unless everything revolves around him 24/7. In 3 or 4 years or less as his diminished skills continue their rapid decline, he will once again start complaining about the Suns - he just doesn't get the part that he is the problem. Granted the Heat this year is pathetic, but had Shaq chose to help Wade & his teammates out instead of faking injury and making Wade try to carry the team by himself, the Heat would be looking at a much better record at this point in time and this blog wouldn't be necessary. When he says he is a "specialist" - he's right in that regard - he specializes in getting teams sucked into paying him big guaranteed money, even though he can't produce anymore. He's the reason the Heat couldn't get other top notch players, he wanted so much money, the Heat had nothing left to offer others. |

You hit the nail on the head. |

I agree with you. Everyone knows that this team is a mess!! D-Wade keeps saying that he is going to stay. However,if Pat does not turn this team around he is as good as gone. |

How does this paper stay in busines? |

If Shaq had really said these things Ira would have printed them at the trade deadline.
Fact is this paper makes stuff up and Ira is the biggest liar on the planet. |

Shaq has succeeded only because of his immense size. His game has not evolved or changed since he entered the league. His entire repertoire involved backing his opponent down in the post and dunking on them. He no longer has the brute power to do that consistently. He has absolutely no shooting touch and still can't hit free throws. I'd much rather have Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, or even David Robinson in their prime on my team than Shaq.
Still, the Heat and Pat Riley are not blameless in this. Riley was anxious to hand over the reins of a declining team a few years ago to Stan Van Gundy and was just as anxious to kick him to the curb when it appeared that he had the horses again to win a title. At this point in time, Van Gundy is the better coach of the two. Riley's recent scouting of NCAA tournament games shows that how interested that he really is in the proceedings? Would Red Auerbach or Phil Jackson had done this? Probably not. It is also to be debated whether Dwayne Wade is a franchise player based on one good playoff run in 2006. Wade is not nearly as good as Kobe Bryant or LeBron James even when fully healthy. He seems to be more interested in doing T-Mobile commercials with Charles Barkley than playing these days. Still, I do not take up for Shaq at all, as he has pulled this same act three different times upon leaving a team now. Heat fans should thank their lucky stars that they pulled a fast one on the Suns by dumping that contract on Phoenix. |

When laker fans called shaq a lazy player who liked to blame others for his problems.people said they were just jealous. Now look at what he is doing to us?

Shaq? Talk about a player that way way way over extended his stay. Pound for pound he's got to be the worst player in the NBA right now. Sad that he thinks he's still got game. He didn't have it on the court and apparently his wife sat him on the bench in his bedroom. Even Shaq's willy got up and left. Poor fella.

Shaq never said this. My God does anyone read the paper on a daily basis? My guess is not.
Ira is a liar. He made this up like he makes up everything he writes. He takes one quote and turns it in to anything he wants. Fried brains in Miami I guess. All of you are just plain stupid brain dead fools that believe everything you read. |
