One question:

How do they get "FARV" out of "FAVRE?" Just what IS the proper pronunciation of his name?

Other than that, sick of hearing about this stupid soap opera.

Since you have just come out from under your rock and have missed the last 16 years of NFL football, the correct pronunciation is "farv". Remember when you were in elementarty school and beginning to learn the language?(from your post it wasn't too long ago) You may remember that there are an unusually large amount of words in the USA version of the english language with silent letters. Words like "knife, knight" come to mind. Some words look like they should all be pronounced the same, but aren't--example would be comb, bomb & tomb.

Being from southern Louisiana, Favre has cajun roots. The cajun people used a combination of their native language and french. That is how you get the pronunciation from the unusual spelling.

As far as I am concerned, a HOF QB can spell his name "pltmnahsch" and call himself "Smith" if he wants to.

PS, when you get sick of hearing about something--turn off the radio and tv! Then you won't have to listen to it. An easy solution to your dopey problem.

The problem is some of us like watching sports, we're just tired of hearing about this drama queen and his indecision. I used to love watching him play. I thought he had a great attitude, really enjoyed the game. But then it became all about him.

PS If you don't like people joking about how FARRRVVVVERRR pronounces his name, log of, turn the computer off or skip to the next comment :)
