Unusual for Penn State University student to be 21 before he got this drunk. Actually this behavior is unusual for most college(pardon me university) students. If they had to work for the tuition like most people in my age group did, drinking was not getting blasted. But let us not stop them from drinking or throw them out of school with NO CREDITS, poor babies.

This is a good example of the typical misinformed, misrepresented opinion you often find on Topix.

Having considerable university education myself, and having witnessed today's admissions process through my children, I am not aware of even one school that has a minimum SAT score as a requirement. Multiple factors are considered. Granted, if you've got 400 on each of your sections (there are 3 now) you're probably not getting into Harvard. But no one sets a minimum. So this poster's minimum 1150 is made up, perception, poor memory, confusion or just plain goofiness.

All of those abound on Topix.

As a side note, there's no Nittany Lion blood in me or my offspring. However, I'll agree Penn State's main campus is more selective than the satellite campuses. Still, many qualified students attend a satellite before swimming in the big pond. And many who jump right in end up drowning or getting eaten alive. Not all those who get in belong there, and some don't go there right away. This poster's correlation between main campus and qualifications is tenuous at best.
