O'Neal responded, saying, "I don't give a (expletive) what Riley said because I said something and it wasn't really meant like that. What I meant was that when I was on the court with Quinn and Ricky Davis, the defense would back off. Now that I'm playing with Steve Nash, the defense has to play different.

"I don't give a (expletive) what Riley's disappointed in. Sue me."

Earlier, O'Neal discussed how the Suns' therapy and exercise methods help him.

"This is a digital new age medical staff," O'Neal said. "I'm used to the old guys with their old ways to ice and stim (electronic stimulation). That (expletive) wasn't working for me. When you're dealing with an old guy whose ways were working and he tries something on you and you say it doesn't work, he looks at you, like, "Hey, my (expletive) works. You're faking. We're getting a divorce. Your numbers are going down. You're worried about your legacy and you're faking.' "

O'Neal is a publicity hound and all around jerk. Riley should have suspended him without pay and let him fade into obscurity. Sure, he would have found a sympathetic journalist needing a story, but as time went by, his laziness would have been the final blow.

Just another reason I am no longer interested in the NBA. I wonder if David Stern is listening?

Shaq is a big good for nothing. Ever since the magic it has always been the players around him that made him shine, and not him making them shine.
These younger players in the NBA will run circles around him (Dwight Howard the real big diesel). The best center we ever had is Zo sorry Shaq he's the real one.
As a die hard heat fan i feel disrespected by his comments. When he was here and the star players we out for injuries he couldn't bail us out. So what make his big head butt thinks he some big shot. Shaq we know you think you brought the championship here to the MIA but reality check ( 15 strong) your contribution was very small.

Before he came to Miami, I was certain the problem was Kobe. Now, I am starting to think differently...
It is the same thing with Shaq everywhere he has been, Kobe has only been with ONE team (w/o counting being drafted by the Hornets).
Shaq is overrated, I was just ignorant to that when he was down here...Now I can clearly see that - Thanks Pheonix.

Now we know Kobe was right. All he wants is for people to kiss his butt and he no longer getting it here.
Thanks for the championship, but if only you had Zo's work ethic...

Wow he just confirm he was misinterpreted and it made a lot of sense and you all still bash the man.

Davis and Quinn do not have defenses set up for them defenses do not repsect them shooting the ball at all. Amare and Nash do. But Shaq is a scum bag. What he said is true. Why is he a publicity hound. I would think a publicity hound is that hypocrite coach in Riley. This man has never been loyal to anyone. He is a saint forget about his comments about Posey over the summer and his comments about Walker.

Man I guess if you dislike someone you would fine anything to justify your haterd. And he did not take a shot at the med staff. Look at Grant Hill how many games has he missed this year and how many games has Shaq miss sense playing? Exactly. I am a Heat fan and I am still a fan of Shaq, but do any you wonder why players are so bitter when they leave miami? Riley is n Saint himself.

Just another example of lack of gratitude. We gave this guy a job and the opportunity to make a lovely home in beautiful South Florida and just because he didn't get more than one championship with the Heat, he bails and makes ungracious comments. I say, good riddance to his attitude and aging, injury-riddled body. Maybe now we can develop some young talent who is eager to perform and doesn't expect the world to hand him everything just because he had some aptitude once upon a time.

He was never even that good of a player and now you know he is not even a good man. Look at what he is doing to his soon-to-be ex-wife.

I loved Shaq, definitely dont win a title without him, but dude, this divorce with your wife has you mental. You are with a contender, enjoy that moment. Are your feelings hurt ? Rley did you a favor putting you on a team with Championship aspirations. Maybe the lack of good play from you the last two years is what everyone should question, or are you only motivated when you are surrounded by Nash and Stoudemaire. and by the way, as much as we needed you the championship year, you need Kobe and Wade just as much, so enjoy the time in phoenix because we all know when the regular season comes next year you will play as horrible as you normally do, and your desire will be gone, as well as your physical ability, then you can start bad mouth D'Antoni, Amare and Nash. You are like clockwork. You need some more hoes like the ones you were with in the LA days to take your mnd off of things.
