Terry what you fail to realize is this is Jackson's second season as QB and he really showed me something in that Denver game plus that Giant game...most notably how he shook off or evaded Strahan (HOF'er)....you Jackson Haters really do come off as a bit racist as much as thee does protest it....I mean condemning A QB as incompetent after 18 games really borders on ridiculous and makes the argument all that more valid...I mean the guy is like what 8-4 as starter...you really need a new pastime...why don't you try Hockey or stay with it exclusively...just a thought to ponder.

Terry also...sorry but I sensed something out of you so I am going to blast you again. You say Marino is hands down better than McNair...maybe during the regular season but McNair was no slouch in the reg. season himself but I will give you that one...Marino is one of the regular season QB's of all time...yeah yeah yeah lots of records but how'd he do in that one superbowl that he finally got to?

Let me refresh your memory: Marino Stats - 29/50 / 318 / 1TD / 2INT's and on the wrong side of a 38-16 ass whooping!...No Game Tying Potential Winning Drive.

McNair's Stats: 22/36 / 214 / 0 TD / 0 INT's but had 64 yards rushing, weak stats sure, but led them on a game tying drive when they needed it and came up with big big plays on that drive...I will take substance over stats any day of the week. Plus I will take the one that gives us a chance to win the game at the end every time.

Yep If I had hindsight and had to decide between these two choices I would take McNair hands down...but that's just me I am sure.

The Vikings have as much chance of getting to the Super Bowl as I do getting a date with Madonna now that A Rod has her all locked up. This looks like another in the long line of a 7-9 or 8-8 seasons with the doomed Vikings!

Mike i have more then likely forgoten more about football then you ever knew..that being said, i admitted Mcnair was a decent QB. and from all accounts a good guy, but one super bowl (loss) does not put him in the category of Marino..
I hopt TJ turns out to the best QB for the Vikes ever but he has not shown it , and i ask why didnt he play division 1 football if he has so much potential?

T-Jack is in for a real good year. He's changed his strategy with women. From now on, no more women with a chipped tooth.
He likes 'em cheap and toothless. Look for better results on the football field.

In all fairness to me, that post was posted AFTER mine.
But you're right, that one is right up there.

Geez we attract some weirdos as it gets closer to the season...

There wouldn't be a T-jack controversy if the Vikes would have properly used that 2nd round pick instead of wasting it on T-Jack a 4th round pick at best.

Apples to oranges..how about comparing the defenses employed by each guys team and situational gamestats...just pondering. You keep forgetting that 21 other guys are playin ball..as far as TJack..the first ten minutes of the Redskins game where it is playoff atmosphere..that is his legacy for now.

There is always 21 other guys playing ball..it is irrelevant....you seize the moment and you make it happen if you want to be considered great...you don't and get blown out you are not (you think those two picks and incompletions had any effect on the outcome?) Joe Montana played in four superbowls and came out victorious every time....that is seizing the moment and that is being great...believe it or not there are many great quarterbacks throughout time who have played this game and never won superbowls...Marino was good but not great...got to win one to get that accolade and my point was McNair got a helluva lot closer than Marino did...Being a great reg. season QB will get you a smile and a cup of coffee...nothing more.

My point about T-Jack is it's his second year and he had nothing to work with his first year receiver wise...so this is the year your position on T-Jack becomes relevant before hand is utter nonsense and baseless conjecture on your part.

..as is your spirited defense of the 27th ranked passer in the league and whose substitutes as ragged as they were, posted superior QB rating numbers...not a sterling start...it wasn't so much the numbers, as it was the total lack of pocket presence and a lack of feel for his position...many others, even while getting smacked around..looked like a QB getting his butt whipped. Ol wrong foot never looked like a pro, or even a top college QB in the pocket or trying to run the KAO...when pro defenses lock up and put 8-9 in a box and dare you to throw to a tight end or give you the out knowing you cannot throw it (these passes a high school WR & TE can catch..) should tell you that our opposition gambled on the fact he could not beat them..no respect. I hope you're right and I am wrong..but instincts are instincts..you can make a lot of stuff, but you cannot make a pro QB.
