He has to be better when the team needs solid play, not management, from the QB spot. The first ten minutes of the Redskin game was the hallmark of the season for him. By and large, the 8-4 record was inspite of his efforts to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I hope that the Vikings faith in this guy is not ill placed, as the balance of the team looks poised for a serious run. The Vikings did something last year that only the Lions ever did (lead the league in rushing offense and defense and not make the playoffs..)some legacy, Childress-Fontes??? The Vikes last year went contrary to NFL logic, run the ball well and kill the other teams ability to run = success. Solely because of one facet of the game and one player in particular..let us hope that situation is corrected.

Good post Gonzo Sr.(lol)
I'm just enjoying summer now and not thinking too hard about it but, we need Jackson to do more than hand it off to Chester or AD. A lot of guys (even me) are using the Denver game as a mark of improvement but, it was already over for the Vikes by then. I'm hoping that Berrian is a reliable deep threat and with another year under the belt of Rice who looks to be very good, Jackson will gain the confidence he needs to be a winner. I'm sure our defense will make it easier for him. Good luck to us!!!

No question, if Jackson is the real deal,
Other than injury, I only see our R. guard and tackle being a problem.
Other than that, I see us taking the North with ease and probably the Conference.
GO VIKES!!
Good point G-man, I've been getting ill with all the T-Jak ragging going on. Let's not forget also that Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson both won Super Bowls and I wouldn't put them in with Montana or Favre. Why are T-Jak haters always comparing him to proven QB's (who also by the way had poor starts) I've been on Packer sites and they think we should have kept Tice for Chilly... go figure.. anyway I'm so pumped for '08. My hometown vist to Fargo this year will be great with all the Viking fever going on. 11-5 (and that's a modest guess)

Dilfer and Johnson were classic quarterbacks, in fact Johnson was an "athletic" type, but was a product of a system that demanded reads on the run. TJack has not demonstrated "instincts" for the position, that is a bit unsettling. The next time that TJack looks off a safety in coverage will be the first..doesn't that worry you a bit?

Yes it does, but I'm a hopeless optimist and a closet pessimist.

I am with you on that, it is tough being a Vikes fan....but when they finally kick the door down...it will be hell to pay. They got the makings of an awfully good club this year...

The Vikings need great play out of Jackson. The bottom line is that if he has problems in seriously dont like the idea of having Gus to back him up. Now Bollenger is ok but we should have traded for Pennington. what do you all think

I still like the Jak-Man right now. But if he screws it up Gus can take over and the Boot-Man is right behind. I'm more worried about his mistakes than his tangebles. Mistakes can be coached, and no one can deny his arm he just needs more accuracy. I almost hate being this optimistic, but I can't help myself especially this year.

In the last ten years alone the Vikes: went 15-1 and did not make the Super Bowl, lost 41-0 in an NFC title game, started 6-0 and missed the playoffs by blowing a 17-6 lead in last two minutes of a game against a 3-12 team.....as much as I love the Vikes and as good as the team looks this year I am not gonna get too excited and say they are gonna be great. Been burned too many times. I prefer they have NO expectations and surprise people.

No worries Tarvaris has got the arm....everything else can be taught....the game will slow down this year for him and he will be fine....we just need a jeff hostettler mid years performance, not a P. Manning performance, we have one already - his name is AD.
The table is set boys...we're now eating at the big boys table...time to eat!
PREDICTION: Vikings vs Dallas NFC Championship Game...who wins is a toss up.

i hope that t-jack turns out to be the next steve mcnair just to make morons like you sound stupid. he is one of the lowest paid QB's in the league anyway so letting him go wouldnt free up any cap space. the only smart thing you said here was getting rid of troy williamson.
