Showtime's closure is the end of an era

You are probably right, but that other person Showtime girl really needs to have an education first, poor girl obviously has had none in school. When you can't spell cheer there is definately a problem. But on the other hand I feel this person is just egging us on to keep this topix going. Guess its working, lol.

First it was said in this posting board she was closing her business for "personal reasons". Then a lot of people came on here to bash Lorrie Black and their experience with her, her daughter, her business, and her business ethics. At first I thought, man these people are being harsh. It couldn't have been that bad. Then the rumors were that she was going to start up a dance team at AHS. Now I hear she has opened up her studio again, allowing only for 3 teams, and by invitation only. Some of the girls that were "invited" or "made the list" did not know about this. Some kids knew ALL ALONG. Their parents are the supporters ($$$$) of Ms. Lorrie. Her best buddies and some of their untalented offspring. No tryouts are allowed for outside people she does not like or deem worthy. I heard some of those girls who tried out for AHS Cheer and DIDNT make Varsity are now on this team.(I guess from the post of this young girl with the bad spelling, she could not make her school cheer team because her grades in spelling and grammar class -- grades count in the scoring with school tryouts, not just how much mommy & daddy can pay).

I guess all these RUMORS about what a backstabbing person she is REALLY ARE TRUE. Just sit back and watch what she does next.

Does she really feel good about her actions? Does she believe she is being ethical? Hope she sleeps good at night. If I know anyone with girls and boys who have a child on one of these lists, I would strongly advise them to WATCH OUT and WATCH YOUR WALLET!!

Is this for real? Is this studio really opening back up by invitation only? WTF??? I mean, there were so many people obviously pleased when it closed, how in the world is it opening back up again? And how exactly can a dance/cheer studio be by invitation only??? Isn't that slightly prejudicial? So like asking for lawsuits to me.

sounds kind of fishy to me... "by invitation only"? what is that supposed to mean. Only the girls that Ms. Black CHOOSES can participate?

Don't they us a public building to run this business? I think the Boys and Girls Club needs to really look at what kind of person this Ms. Black is before they open the building to her again.

I think this could of been the plan all along to get rid of the unwanted girls! Why was the Showtime sign never taken down from the boys and girls club months ago?

Okay... So let's review here. I can't even help but to laugh at this women and her actions. She took us (the kids,dancers or cheerleaders), gave us no choice but to make dance (or cheer, or both) our entire lives, took it away from us, some sooner than others and now she decides to open it back by invitation only? So let me guess...Her little 'favorites' or the ones with the most money, the suck ups, were the only ones invited back? Ha...I've been told, over and over again, that I'm correct on that. I was crying but when I guessed the names of some of the invited girls and was confirmed to be correct..I laughed!!! People who can't even dance! Because they were friends, favorites, family, and suck ups. Some of us didn't suck up, I know I didn't.. Because I DID NOT Whatsoever Agree With The Way We Were Treated!!! Not only by coaches but by so-called team members! The coaches allowed this behavior and I know I rarely came home from a practice without breaking down in the car. And for those girls who have been invited back...Half of you know you were talking badly about the Studio and coaches months, weeks, even DAYS before you got your invitation. Don't get me wrong..I love some of you and I am definately happy you have the opportunity to go back to having your fun and this life. But I'm glad to be rid of it. I'd rather move to another city or state to dance than go back to SHOWTIME. That's how much I love dance but hate showtime. But here are some points to be made... Lorrie...How do you expect to find good dancers in the next year or so? If it is by invitation only..where do you find new...good...real..dancers? No kids are getting taught dance and hiphop because you let them go. And soon your new little favorites will be too old. i was treated badly by this women, her child, and my so called team members, and I don't need it. Those of you who are going back, you're going to once again realize how horrible it was....you'll once again complain about how bad of a coach you have, how you have no free time, and how you hate being there...And I'll say...Um... I'm happy I'm having fun and a good life.:) Lorrie made dance my entire life, pulled away from me, tore me down, hurt me, lied to me and my parents both, now hurts tons of more girls do to this INVITATION ONLY CLUB... And you know what I think about it? Thank you for not having me come back Lorrie...I TRUELY Appreciate It.

And Storm...Wanna know why we never won worlds? We had cliques!!! At one point or another...Some one was talking crap about the girl standing across the room. We were some stuck up mean people. Lorrie didn't help us either... She didn't take the time to let us bond, become a TEAM..we got dance shoved down our throats every second of every day we were there..and then some. A team works as one!! But No... We were out there as individuals just happening to be doing the same thing...called by the same name. But we were not what you call a team. That's why we couldn't win Nationals or Worlds.... Think about that for a while too.

Haha.. I'm Sure A Lot Would Be. But I'm Sorry To Say, Like A Lot Of The Girls In Showtime I Don't Like To Be Rude And Hand Out Names. I Feel That When I Am Rude...There Is Good Reason Behind It. But Just To Let You Know... Mrs.Lorrie Has Never Danced...Ever..She Cheered As A Kid...But NEVER Has Danced...EVER!

She is a year younger than me, I just remember her being a cheerleader, etc. I was an 80 graduate so that would put her around 45. I think you are right, I think she did participate in some pageant years ago, but not positive.

What the french toast?! I'm with the girl a few posts above me...where is she going to find new talent after her girls are too old to dance anymore?? It really does not make sense...I wish she would grow some juevos and get on here to answer some questions rather then let everyone speculate.

There are plenty of private clubs and organizations in the USA, all are by invitations only. Nothing wrong with it. Start your own CLUB if you want.
