For all the kids that Showtime Studios has helped mold, there are many others that Showtime Studios has helped destroy! My best friend's daughter was a member of Showtime Studios competitive dance team. My b/f is a very outspoken person, and due to some comments she made and opinions she had, she and her daughter were kicked out of the studio and off the dance team with no warning. A little girl's dreams were DESTROYED because of something her mom said, and the studio did not care one bit about this little girl. This little girl was not the first either. Just one more in a long line of little girls that got their dreams smashed to the floor by Showtime Studios and their "caring" staff.

Thank you Pam, for putting into words what I have been feeling ever since we found out that Showtime was closing. Our daughter has been on one of the cheerleading teams there for the last 3 years. My daughter was so shocked and sad when she found out the news, being a cheerleader or dancer is actually a part of these girls identity. Thanks Lorrie and showtime for all you did in making my baby the confident, good girl she is today.

That being said, there is so much talent in Alamogordo, please let's not waste it. We need to get another dance studio and competitive cheer gym in here. Now is the perfect opportunity for someone to come in and pick up where showtime is leaving off. With the number of girls who get pregnant in this town we need to get something positive for them to do after school.

I would have to disagree, it is the mom's fault her daughter got kicked off not showtimes. I know that showtime wasn't perfect, but what place is? We live in America, if she didn't like it why didn't she start her own dance studio and run it the way she wanted to. When you have a bussiness as big as showtime not everyone is going to be happy. I bet the worst part of owning Showtime, for Lorrie, had nothing to do with the kids and everything to do with their parents.

I like Lori very much. My daughter was a member for one semester. The problem I had was the non-competitive girls were taught by high school girls. I felt these teams were not given the time or attention that the competitive teams recieved. They dropped my daughter during a lesson on backhand springs. She never really learned anything during her time there. I certainly didn't wish any wrong towards the program but it was not the best for all the kids there. I do feel bad for the girls left that put their whole being into it. They have nothing now. Whatever Lori decides to do in the future will be she will do well. I wish her the best.
just wondering

did you pay for these high school girls to teach your daughter or did they donate their time?

What u have to understand is that no matter if they are in dance or cheer there is a possibility that they might get injuried I mean look at Storm there were sometimes that one of them were injuried. My daughter was a sparkler and she was even injuried. But there is a chance of that happeneing in any sport! I didnt mind the high school girls helping my daughters class as long as they were teaching them!!

Oregon Elementary does have its' heroes including Ms. Myers, Mrs. Onate, Mrs. Gardner, but Ms. Garza is NO role model. She refused to stop the bulleying my son went through by saying she "couldn't get in the middle of things". She should be replaced before more kids fall victim to her passiveness.

I am completely prepared to receive heat on this issue. There is good and bad in everything, and I don't think that Showtime Studios should close with everyone thinking they were some great heroes! My b/f is not the only one that this happened to, there are others who were kicked out for different reasons such as not wanting to work for free at the studio, and not agreeing with kids getting spots on the teams because their parents wrote big checks to the studio. So bring on whatever you got.

even though it did bring good exposure to the girls, it is still all about who you know!!! as to what kind of treatment your children get individualy, speaking as a mother who's dauthter was involved with the studio. the studio payed attention to the one who were the best athletes, and left the rest to pretty much fend for themselves. I personally think that if you pay that amount of money for a program all the girls should be entitled to the same training. i also think that instead of having high school students teaching the girls, Lori should have hired more adults with gymnastic and cheer experience.

This is the day I have been waiting for- the closing of the Showtime Studio!!! Finally Lorrie is receiving exactly what she deserves. A broken heart and busted dreams- the same devastation she caused so many other young girls under her instruction! Yes, when a parent didn't go along with the improper behavior displayed by the owner, not to mention the teenagers who were allowed to "make out" with their boyfriends in front of these young girls- her opinion got her daughter kicked out of their beloved studio. I would like to ask how many teenagers of STS got pregnant- as a result of thier reckless behavior? Lorrie knows this all too well. It is very sad that the people of our communtity think they are "role models" for our youth! If they only knew the corruption that went own behind the scenes. Their bottom line was not shaping young lives- it was making their wallets BIGGER! And if you were not willing to open your wallet for them- you daughter or son was not part of the elite squad. Last year after a young mother was convicted of charges that were FALSELY STATED by members of STS, no one at that studio cared that her two daughter's lives were destroyed after their mother was sentenced to jail. No one cared that a mother had to send her daughter to live in another state because she had gotten herself in such finacial debt trying to stay up with the elite, that she could no longer properly care for her daughter. That studio has manipulated and used everyone in their path to get what they wanted. State and National Awards mean nothing to a chld who has been "abuse" by or as a result of this studio. The children that attended the Boys and Girls Club suffered greatly with STS being there. They no longer had the use of their own gymnasium for after school activites. Thankfully Lorrie and her minions can no longer destroy any more young girls or boys hearts and dreams. Being Kicked Out of that studio was the best thing to ever happen to my family.
unbelieveable

No one knows the truth about anything not even me, all I know is that my daughter was a member of showtime for several years and believe me I do not have a lot of money I cannot believe (be the change) is so damn stupid come on now you friends girl had to move away because of showtime no it just sounds like that mother did know how to manage her money. I worked my butt of so my dauighter could be in showtime I was in every fund raiser possible their was plenty of times that i was behind and Lorrie worked with me. And also (be the change) you should look up some of these other dance studios and see how much there fees are do some research. I know it can be expensive but for my daughter I did it and I loved every bit of it even the hectic parts, My child would have never had the opportunities that she had with the studio. This is a sad sad thing and i am not going to argue with no one over this and if you were a good parent you would just be worried about the young children that no longer have a studio to go to not about your stupid opinion you know kids read the newspaper. Lorrie was loved by many and I am sure she it not liked by many but hey I am not liked by a lot of people either but I am not going to cry over it. Lorrie will be the best person she knows how to be and there are many that will be by her side and this to shall pass then you will have the next story to comment about. We love you Mrs. Lorrie and so does my daughter you are the best thing that has happened to my family. Keep your head up you are a beautiful person.

That was my question, so if it was so wonderful why is it closing? What is going around town it that the studio was calling itself non-profit and it really is a for profit business. So why was it allowed in the Boys and Girls club in the first place. I thought that the Boys and Girls club was none profit?

You know you talk alot about what your bff told you and have the nerve to say that some were on the team due to "writing a big fat check". The bs that you have heard is all wrong. I don't have alot of money, I do work however and pay my bills and yet found the time and money for ALL 4 of my children to be on the competitive dance teams. It's about the kids ability to dance not how much money the parents gave.
