Whats really funny is whatever player gets bashed on here has come thru shortly thereafter. Gregg, Jacobs, Hermida. So maybe its Uggla's turn.

Dear Erick, Marlinman, and ALL other Intelligent Posters, I understand the cost restraints BUT how in the heck do you ever get in a position where you have had Rabelo and ESPECIALLY Hoover as part of a platoon system. I defy everyone to go to ESPN, CBS Sports or ANY website and pull up the 25 man rosters and find one team whose BACKUP catcher you would not RIGHT NOW prefer to be the Marlins' starting catcher. It will astound you when you realize that is true--Well, one exception Corky Miller with the Braves.
Also do these guys watch film of their at bats--Please tell me they are at least trying to make adjustments. I said earlier that Cantu RIGHT NOW--now obviously Hanley in the long run---is the one guy this team can least afford to lose. Last Weekend against the phillies on Saturday and Sunday it's Jorge. Yesterday against the Cubs it's Jorge with the tying RBI. ONLY guy on the team who has an idea about clutch situations. |

Lets get Mike Jacobs a catchers mit ASAP! That would be a big improvement.
Uggla will be fine. He's just suffering from the embarrassment of the All Star Game. He's a great hitter for a second baseman. Anibel is ready to comee back we are going to be stronger with pitching. That is the name of the game in baseball. |

Marlinman, We CAN'T continue to have 2!!!!! sure outs in a lie-up. Do you realize that Zambrano and 3 0r 4 other pitchers are about 100 points better than any Marlin catcher and with pop.

just REMEMBER THAT THE MARLINS PAYROLL IS $22 MILLION AND THE mets PAYROLL IS $150,000,000.00! THE METS SHOULD BE WINNING EVERY GAME WITH THAT PAYROLL AND THEY DON'T AND WON'T!

Our bullpen is unreal. And Hermida's waking up. Great win again today. This team keeps on amazing.

Good point Allan. Gregg has been doing better than his money's worth as a closer. Recall that he was not originally meant to be our closer, just fell into that role because he handled those 1 run leads successfully. The Colorado series sucked, but it's over. Hermida suddenly got hot, and wasn't in right field when Gonzo misplayed a hit. He moved up some points thanks to that. And Jacobs goes error-free, and gets another couple of home runs. Heck, his average went up from .239 to .245 based on yesterdays' performance. Shame that it ended up not getting the win. I guess it is time to bash that sinking ship in Hendrickson and either Willingham or our defensive positioning folks. The guy blew the game for us. A 6-5 win turns into a 9-6 loss, thanks to Hendrickson pitching batting practice, followed by Fredi not pulling him until we are tied and have two men on. Then, the third out goes over a poorly positioned Willingham's head, leading to the winning runs. Time for |

Of course the Marlin's enjoy silence. That's what they are used to when they play at home.
