Mr Football wrote: <quoted text> They never said Boller was a leader. Don't you remember Preston every Monday morning having his "sources" saying the players were questioning Boller's leadership? It's just ignorant to say that if Flacco had Moss or Owens he wouldn't be better. Half the deep balls he's thrown would have been caught by either of those guys. Flacco is hitting 60% of his passes. He will correct the interceptions. The few deep passes Flacco has thrown, has missed by a mile, either over thrown or under thrown, and he also had time to throw them.I agree that Moss or TO couldnt catch them.I agree theres not much difference between Flacco and Boller, as a matter of fact I think we would have done much better with Boller in there.I think the speed of the game has got him befuddled. his 60% ratio has been on short passes only.Personaly I dont think Flacco is the answer at qb. everyone is hopeing that he will be, but we all have been through this many times before.

Can everyone in this town just let go of the whole Boller thing and give this guy a chance? I'm guessing with a name like Rosie you've never played football so I'll tell you that his passes did not "miss by a mile". The flea flicker hit Mason in the hands, and he has hit D. Williams in the hands on at least two. They were contested jump balls but our receivers still got their hands on them. The Bengals game he had Clayton open deep down the right sideline and Clayton turned over the wrong shoulder and didn't adjust. It was a ball that should've been caught. Were you saying "the speed of the game has got him befuddled" after the Steelers game when a real QB expert, Jaworski, was singing his praises? I didn't think so. You never heard those words out of a professional talent evaluator after a Boller game. I appreciate your passion for the game but your reasoning is a little off.

BTW, not that I agree that he looks like Boller because he doesn't have the happy feet, but he has only been an NFL QB for 5 GAMES? Boller has played 5 years and still plays like a nervous rookie. Most rookie QBs "look like Boller" their first season. The difference is that Boller "looks like Boller" after 5 years. Give me a break.

Rob wrote: Flacco had A lousy day against the colts.......goihg to sleep with the ball in his hands against the stealers didnt help either......and its not like he didnt have a lousy day against the Titans....a lousy day that wasted an outstanding effort by the leauges best defense who showed the Titans and the rest of the league who really has the best defense in the NFL....only to be sabatoged by lacco and it'Stover. Im not frayed because they lost to the colts...... I fully expected them to lose to the colts......just like I fully expect them to lose to the dolphins and everyone else except the raiders.as long as he remains the starter....I'm upset because Ozzie Newsome and the braintrust either couldnt understand or just didnt care that this would be the case.....that told me they were more interested in securing their supposed ''quarterback of the future'' than givng the leauges #2 run defense the secondary upgrades it needed to get back to being the leauges best overall defense .....even though it has kept this team competitve for the last eight years. No quarterback or the desire for him should have overshadowed that....but obviously Ozzie and the Ravens front office dont appreciate or respect what Ray Lewis and this defense has accomplished over the last eight years....how much more evidence would one need after last season that Mcalistr and Rolle were done.....and if the raiders fel like washington was their weak link why would newsome think he would be his stopgap....corey ivey on Reggie Wayne.... are you serious ? I feel the need to point out the utter stupidity of this post once again. Anyone watch Eli Mannings three picks Monday night? None of FLacco's picks have been that bad. Eli stared down the receiver and the safeties and D-backs were able to get return yardage on the picks because he telegraphed them that bad. This guy Rob wasn't on here trashing Flacco after the Steelers game, he was in line at Modell's getting his jersey. Flacco has made some great downfield throws in the middle of the field and most of his quick drop slants are right on target. He will develop more chemistry with the receivers on the deep ball and that will come. Remember he didn't practice with any of these receivers until the last Pre-Season game. Matt Ryan ran with the first team right away in Atlanta and has more weapons.

Ya know, Schmuck....you hit the nail , dead center. I had to work Sunday, and only caught the radio broadcast on my lunch break. The Colts were up 17 - 0 and the 1st thing I hear is Rhodes going for 38 yards with 5 or 6 missed tackles. Harrison then scores and they hit halftime . Got off around 4:45 and heard the postgame show. On my way home , I thinking about all of the fans who are gonna say we stink and Flacco is no better than Boller. I've stated in other columns beforehand.....this team isn't going to the Super Bowl this year. They played well enough to win the first 2 and really should have beaten the Steelers and Titans. They had leads in both of those games and just couldn't finish it out. With the exception of a couple of negative game changing momentum plays, they really outplayed both of those teams. This week, they got behind early and that was that. The Colts are still a pretty damn good football team. Not many teams can catch up to them once they get a good size lead. They become a different team, with a substantial lead. The secondary is getting banged up and I guess we'll start to hear how "long in the tooth" they are. Hey, it's true . I wanted them to select Flacco, and although I'd rather have seen him sit and learn.....he's doing OK. You look at Matt Ryan and he has Turner in the backfield and a legitimate deep threat in Roddy White and actually a good midrange threat in Jenkins. Wait until they get Laurent Robinson back and healthy. Flacco has none of that. Mason is a solid possession WR and Clayton just can't seem to make the plays when he does get open. And where is Todd Heap ? Blocking , that's where. That's not even his strong suit. McGahee and McClain are going to struggle if teams get an early and sizable lead on this team. Unless, they can make strides in the passing game. So, let's just watch and see if this team improves. It definitely can and needs to. Let's see if the O-line can get better Pass protection and let's see if we can get some DBs healthy and see where it takes them. No need to just toss in the towel. We're 5 games into the Season. The next 2 games are winnable. If they get back above .500, after 7 games? Ya never know what can happen. If they get behind like they did in Indy? Well, let's just say that things won't bode to kindly for them. It wouldn't for many NFL teams.

Amadeo wrote: <quoted text> Yes...please produce articles that will clearly show someone had an OPINION similar to yours. Your argument futile. You can't really compare Favre to any other QB and say that without a doubt they are better. You could say...this one has more rings...but Farve has his ring and several records that other great QBs didn't come close to. Especially relevant to this is the QB he overtook didn't even have a championship. If I threw Brady, Young, Montana and Farve at their prime in a draft and asked people to choose one...I don't think alot of people would just count Farve out. Your argument is stupid because it's all a matter of opinion. While you're at it why don't you prove that new coke is better than old coke. Comparing QB's is always futile. Different eras, different supporting casts, different coaches, different philosophies. It's like choosing between your kids (or between your best ex-wife but lets not go there). Favre gets into the HOF if for no other reason than he has sustained such a high level of play for so long. In terms of the Ravens, besides the fact that we just don't match up well with them, what I haven't seen mentioned yet is that we played them at the wrong time. How about giving the Colts a little bit of credit? They were pretty juiced up after a run of bad results, were at home and just waiting for someone to take it out on. The Ravens were a little worn down from two tough losses but I don't think anyone would have beaten the Colts that day. And talking about HOF QB's, when Payton and his offense are on it, it's asking a lot for anyone to beat them. In a season where the Clowns beat the Giants, who were going pretty good there, quite convincingly, its way too early to pass judgement on just where in the standings the Ravens will end the season. Everyone should just take their Thorazine and chill out.

Only the coaches and the QB are new. It will take a while for Harbaugh to get his guys in assuming the fans don't run him out of town first. The main thing to look for is, do things get better as the season progresses? We'll see. Unless of course, they do a 180 and start Troy Smith.

I don't see why people rag on Flacco because he's made mistakes. He's a rookie, made the starting QB by default. Looking back at the first couple games, he got cozy with the ball and eventually got caught sleeping in the pocket. Ever since the Pittsburgh game, he has moved around more when the pocket collapses or the pressure comes. Interceptions? Really, only one was his fault vs. the Colts. The first one was tipped, he can't control that. The third one was at the end of the game, and his nerves made him overthrow a screen pass. More importantly, he's got great physical skills, with a accurate, laser throw. You can't expect him to develop his mental QB skills in a matter of 5 weeks. It takes time, and I'm sure that towards the end of this season and into next season, he will be a much better all-around QB.
Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions in his rookie year, and the Colts went 3-13. Great things don't happen overnight. Give the Ravens and Joe some time.

People rag on him because you clowns were all over his jock back in the day of 2-0. Now the Ravens suck, Flacco is exposed as a loser, and everyone hates him.
Cant blame you though. After all, you were fooled by the 2 gay wins over the Browns and Bengals.
Flacco sucks period.

The bottom line is that as a result of free agency and salary caps, the NFL now looks more like college in that all teams have a handful of top talent with the best of the rest and they have to re-load every 3 or 4 years similar to college recruiting. So, what it amounts to is a dilution of talent leading to mediocrity in which almoist every team has a chance to win it all!

Maybe he was lauding his Delaware acomplishments. I appreciate your optimism and I hope we do have a winner in Flacco, but I dont see it yet. We havent had a scoring offense since the inception of the franchise, and we have to score to win in this division. I dont see a win in Miami either. prediction 20 to 17 Miami
