Very cool. Doing things like this is why we all love the Cubs. It's just too bad they couldn't win on the little guy's birthday. :(

Each year plenty of people get injured at Wrigley. 2 years ago I was hospitalized for months after being struck in the head with a ball. The cubs didn't do anything for me, But I guess a cute little 8 year old is better PR than a normal regular fan. One of these days, I will return to normal while the Cubs swoon over an 8 year old. I go to rehab daily with nothing but a "YOUR FAULT" letter from the Cubs.

Oh yeah - your right Irish Gal, I don't want to hear about a feel good story in the paper. A story that ends with a happy ending about a boy that god forbid could have suffered for the rest of his life with health ailments.

All I want to hear about are the shootings and crimes going on a daily basis. Or please - please give me more information about Obama's global tour. Yes, now that's news that will keep me satisfied all day long!

I hope you return to normal, too. But I wonder if you were to begin with?

Your post has some grammatical errors too. Every sentence should begin with a capital letter and "by a high school age ghost writer?" is not a complete sentence.

It's great that Dominic is back on his feet, and yes it was touching to see him and his father hug and kiss on the field. Oh, and we Americans certainly love our feel-good stories: they give us the impression that we are kind, compassionate, good-hearted human beings, and all we have to do in exchange is read a newspaper story, watch a TV show, have a few feelings, and maybe spout out a few trite sentiments here and there.("Isn't that sweet?" "Our children are our future." "A father's love for his child is moving to behold." Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.) But, please, let's face the facts. A good quarter of the people at Wrigley either already were or would soon become drunken, belligerent idiots who would end the day puking in an alley, picking a fist-fight, beating their wives and children, or all three. And when the Cubs collapse for the 100th time in the last 100 years, I'm sure their "classy" fans will find a way to scapegoat one of their own, just as they did with Bartman back in good old 2003. "Class act organization" my anus. "Self-deluded imbeciles" is more like it.

Sincerely,

William Madison

And when the Cubs collapse for the 101st time in the last 101 years, I'm sure their "classy" fans will find a way to scapegoat one of their own, just as they did with Bartman back in good old 2003. And it wouldn't surprise me if the person they scapegoated turned out to be none other than little Dominic, the innocent bystander they're currently using to facilitate their shameless moral masturbation. "Class act organization" my anus. "Self-deluded imbeciles" is more like it.
