Floyd Landis: A Lion Is Out Like A Sacrificial Lamb

Sports fans have little patience and even less tolerance. When tired of controversy, fans react as if facing a pile of dishes in the sink.

What's been interesting here is how many people have been unable to grasp the thruth or at least question the evidence that was provided.

It shows me that many can't be bothered in looking at the truth.

Yep, It's a crappy situation which is never going to get better.

I think MOEP's comments are right on the mark. My own experience of life indicates that the truth is of little importance to most people - they're too busy getting on with business (whatever that is, it's usually divorced from the truth). It never fails to amaze me that distortion of the truth isn't a problem for the vast majority of people. They're completely comfortable with lying ... remind me how that works ?

Anyway's, bon chance guys. Life goes on ...

Welcome back Ali. I enjoyed reading your commenting over at the DPF. At least those posters
provide reasoning behind their opinions.

As you stated well, life goes on.

So Ali, have you been riding the bike this year?

the last line of this article claims Floyd is DIVORCED!

How can that be true: wouldn't we of ALL PEOPLE (fans or otherwise) have known that? there's no evidence in Google that it's true...

And a welcome back as well, to dear AliGhostly...:-)

Just proves that there's an idiot born (or found at TOPIX) every minute...

"... slings and arrows of outRAGEous fortune..."

Well, we know who slings arrows, we just keep sidestepping them like they were as old as a... sigh: never mind...

If Floyd Landis had gotten a divorvce, it would have been in all the papers and news media. As it wasn't, than it didn't happen.

I hear you MOeP, but don't forget we've spent a lot of electrons reminding people that what they do read in papers isn't necessarily so...

(so: is the converse true? what we DON'T find in a paper or Google search cannot be true? I'd say 'yes' if it's certifiably 'public information': I think Landis' divorce would produce Chris-n-Raymond type snickers)

... I thought it a strange way for that article to end...

I understand where you're comong from with this ZENman. But, as some reporters live and hang around the court house for any tid bits on celebrities, I believe that we would have heard something.

Personaaly I don't see this happening with Floyd Landis and his wife. I think that they're more connected and grounded together than many people would credit them for. But, than that's only my perspective on those two people.

Cheers

The story is OK; it goes on a bit and tells nothing. I am sure that Raymond, like myself would never 'snicker' at another mans private life. We have both said many times that WE would accept the verdict and if it went Landis' way, then say "good luck to him" unfortunately Zenthecoward can't accept anything that is against his opinion, be he right or wrong, a pity
BTW Zencoward, how far from Zurich do you live?

If you ever would like to hear people screwing the truth, come to my office and listen to clients reporting their insurance claims!! Amazing things happen to people's belongings. I recently had a claim reported where a "lady's" vanity case got lost. She handed me a list of itmes which was packed in the case. Without her knowing, I went to the store where she got the quote from and asked them to stack all the stuff on their counter. We needed TWO vanity cases to pack the goodies!!

Thanks for sharing Pieter. People's imaginations are always bigger than what they own. Then we all wonder why insurance prices have gown up so much. Amazing how stupid and dishonest people can be, while not figuring out that insurance companies will investigate before simply handing money over.

Here is a slightly racist one for you Speedy Pete

An Australian, a Kiwi and South African are in a bar one night having a beer. All of a sudden the South African drinks his beer, throws his glass in the air, pulls out a gun and shoots the glass to pieces.
'In Seth Efrika our glasses are so cheap that we don't need to drink from the same one
twice,' he says.

The Kiwi, obviously impressed by this, drinks his beer, throws his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the glass to pieces.
'Wull mate, in Noo Zulland we have so much sand to make the glasses that we don't need to drink out of the same glass either,' he says.

The Australian, cool as a Koala, picks up his beer and drinks it, throws his glass in the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the South African and the Kiwi. He turns to the astonished barman and says,
'In Strailya mate, we have so many bloody South Africans and Kiwis that we don't need to drink with the same ones twice.'

Have a good day

I enjoyed the claims adjuster, after a woman hit me in her car, at an intersection giving me the right-of-way, saying:

"I believe you, and I've already told our client that they're lying may affect our future coverage of them... what's your status, and 'how MUCH' are you going to cost us?"

Some here would be surprised that I settled for 12K, when any shyster lawyer would have worked it up to about 40-50K...(in USD-1996)

Because 'time was of the essence', essentially...

A cheetah on valium must be super fast !! Problem is a cheetah can only keep up the high speed over a very short distance. So, should you not rather call him a cheatah?!!! Me, I still think he is a LION. But what does it matter, after all, what you or me think of Landis. I now see it as something bad that has happened and I must move on. Nothing you or me can do about it now. One positive thing about the whole matter; I've "met" a lot of nice guys whom I never would have known otherwise!!

Take care, my friend
