Favre sticks to script, declines to address rift

Brett Favre stuck to the script, declining to address his public rift with the Green Bay Packers in an appearance at Lambeau Field on Saturday.

In town to present former teammate Frank Winters for induction into the Packers' Hall of Fame at a banquet Saturday night, Favre briefly spoke with reporters about his former center's career before abruptly stepping off the stage and ducking out a side door.

My family have been Packer fans since 1959 and the days of Vince Lombardi. That said, Brett Farve retired. The Packers moved on. If Farve can't make up his mind, it's no fault of the Packers. He now starts the prima donna whining which is for him very unbecoming. Get over it Brett and get on with your life. I'm sure your daughters could use time with their Father, and yor wife with her husband....

What is it with these athletes who retire and then change their minds and then get their feelings hurt when the teams don't bow down to them when they say they want to come back. Brett Favre had been talking about retiring for a long, long time. The Packers had to move on and that is what he needs to do. Everyone is replaceable now matter how good or how good they think they are. Sorry Brett, you made your choice.

Better yet let's have a tailgate party for the man who is really important to the team......Ted Thompson. Then maybe more fans will be able to give him a standing ovation like us shareholders did yesterday.
