I would give the driver's a raise.

Apperently YOU don't, but for the rest of us normal people, like reading posts that make sense. When, tell me when have you EVER made sense, let alone made more sense than me? See that is THE point, just because you're to blind and stupid to see the obvious that's not my fault. |

If I were Brian France, CEO and chairman of NASCAR for the day, I would fire Mike Helton, and then commit suicide.

Being able to run 3 wide, seeing a wreck or two, people really racing each other for a win or good finish....that is a good race! One car getting way out front in every race and leaving everyone else in the dust isn't fun to watch. Not much competition in that.

You're right.
It's a good thing they changed to the COT, because the racing is better this year than it's been in a while. |

Please don't take this wrong, but if I'm not mistaken the bristol race even had a car out front that the others had a hard time catching. Vegas and Cali, and Daytona were the same. Cars getting out front and running way ahead of the pack. How does that make for more exciting racing? I want to watch the bumping and grinding, the side by side of yester year so to speak. I'm not knocking the cot it put everyone on equal footing. I'm just saying I apparently am not watching the same racing you are. |
|
I'm not trying to be rude.
The "yester year" racing you speak of is pretty much a fantasy. The racing has never and I repeat NEVER been better than it is today. The driver, teams, cars have never been closer (or equal) than it is today. Go watch an old race and you will see I'm right. Go back 5 to 10 years ago how many drivers had a legidement shot at winning every week? Now think about how many have that same shot today. You always remember the past, of something you love fondly. You always want it the way "it use to be". The fact remains that it's wasn't as good as you think it was. Again, not trying to be rude! |

Maybe to you, but I prefer the good ole days. The COT is too boxy. |

Because Jeff Gordon isn't winning 10-12 races a year like he was in the late 90's
Now if a driver wins 4 its a feat.

If the top 35 rule did not exist. Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr would not be able to command the 25-30 million dollar a year sponsorship they do. It's all about the money.

How many good ol' days can you have had in your short and bitter seventeen years "Lisa"? What a crock! |
I have to say I was totally bored watching the race Saturday, I actually feel asleep watching it, it is not racing when one car gets up front and has such a big lead that nobody can catch him. racing is bumping and banging, and yes years ago thats how is was. but JMO, |

So your implying that watching these drivers race single file or when a car gets out front and dominates the race that's racing? No way! Racing is bumping, grinding and racing side by side. Changing leaders frequently. The most talented and set up cars and drivers win. THAT'S RACING. FYI I do frequently watch races from 10 and 15 yrs ago, I love watching them. They were more exciting then. I never took that you were being rude. I'm just trying to understand what you see in what we've been watching in these first 4 races. I am not a JG fan and in the nineties, Menard is correct he won more than any driver. He had a better set up and was talented he got what was deserved. |

Sorry MENARDS not Menard.

Are you talking the Nationwide race this past weekend? If so then you're talking about the old car. Racing is NOT bumping and banging that's demolision derby. Racing is making passes and outdriving everyone. There is more side to side racing, closer finishes, better drivers, more exciting races than there was ten years ago. |
|
I have watch alot of the older races from years ago, and I have to say they were pretty exciting to me. I am just not to sure about the COT yet.I like the bumping and banging not to where you wreck someone on purpose but pushing them up or out of the way is racing to me. |

Well Jim I guess we just agree to disagree. I love racing and won't stop watching or going to them because of the COT.
i want the excitement back and I don't see excitement as you do. "Demolition derby" no they have those at the county fair and it's boring. Take Care |
