Lorenzen Wright... big and athletic, and could be a sign that Andy is on the market too. Ol floppy hair better watch his minutes and come into camp in shape...

You mean to tell me Paul Mokeski isn't available - another smoke & mirrors acquisition by a cleveland gm. Don't go get someone good just get a journeyman lucky to be getting a paycheck.

"Wright spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings, playing in 18 games overall. He averaged 0.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game."

Yea, his stats say he will really add something to the Cavs and win them a championship. He He He.

Fellas, relax. Look at it for what it is and thats to fill out the roster. I want to see Hickson get the bulk of those minutes. If he is slow in adjusting to the NBA, you have a 12 year vet to pick up the load. At this stage of the summer with training camp around the corner, getting an all-star bigman is unrealistic. I hope they get the deal done for Delonte soon, we need the depth at guard.

Delonte will be in the fold this season. If they don't get a deal done the Cavs will exercise their option for 2.7 mil. They'll have oodles of dough to spend at the end of the season, and West will be one of a number of players they can chase.

that will be very good especially for lebron... if they can have a versatile big man who can work on offense and defense lebron will be unstoppable in the offensive part.
But choosing Lorenzen Wright I think is not a good idea because he has not have the capabilities that a good center has ...HE IS GOOD but for the cavs well big Z is better than him don't you think..

We knew we were over the cap. The Williams deal was a bonus. They actually will not have much money next year (cap will probably be around $61.85M and we already have $66.86M in salary on the books per Hoopshype.com ). So the only way we add a Star player is via a midseason trade. They need to be within 25% of each other so they can potentially take on a high salary with Wally and Andy. Otherwise, after the 2009 season, they only have $30M in salary. Let's see how they start off. They play competitively with Boston, Detroit, Toronto and Orlando - the other teams considered East Favorites. They should be sitting pretty good at the Trading Deadline, while certain teams, especially in teh West will probably be out of it and ready to unload salary.

Actually it's two years from now that they'll have "oodles of dough to spend". They have contracts coming off next year, but are so far over the cap it won't make much difference.

Lets see...a NBA vet who is fairly inexpensive in todays world...can help Hickson adapt and maybe help Andy's game too.

Not a bad idea. Its all about the pieces of the puzzle.

why is this a dumb player move? is ferry signing him to a 4 year contract? no - its a veteran minimum for one year. he will fill out the big man rotation and will take up garbage minutes. every player on the team cant be an all star.
