La Russa don't put up with any nonsence and ya'll see the results! ---------- Yeah, right, LARUSA does NOT put up with any shananigans from any ball player, and that's why he's been so successful over the years. Which leads to that goofy poll of supposed players from the article last weekend that stated that LARUSA was #3 on a list of MGR's that most players would NOT want to play for. Any MLB leaguer making that assessment has to be on a long list of losers who don't know what it is like to WIN or play for a WINNER !!!

In any event, WELLS won't hit that many HOMERS, but come to think of it, neither has SORRIANO since the beginning of MAY. Let's do it !!! Perhaps it would give us an inside track to yanking ROY HALLADAY away from the BIRDS as well. How about CARLOS ZAMBRANO even up, if he would agree to a trade there ??? CZ could teach BRIAN BURKE how to pitch and BRIAN BURKE could teach CZ how to shoot a PUCK !!!

CUB fan here all the way, but here's a toast to seeing the stated above; a CUBBIE WIN and a 4-BAGGER of homers by someone who could eventually challenge BARRY BONDS for the all time lead !!!

I am so happy that Soriano now has his mind cleared. It definitely showed at the plate and in the field yesterday. It must be strenuous thinking of the many ways $136 million can be spent.

Soriano and Bradley are not the only ones who need to clear their minds. The entire team's performance is just plain AWFUL! Their defense and offense are not working together at all.

As long as people continue to buy the seats & fill the stadium I don't see anything changing. I can remember my Grandpa cussing the Cubs back in the 50's! 60yrs later...same story! Jet I think you just hit one out or the park with the wind blowing in off the lake. Watch the Cardinals today. They look like a team that will tear your wings off. They have the attitude. I am not a Cards fan. I wish the Cubs could find some fire. They have the players....in name. But when a player gets to play his home games at Wrigley.......something happens. Too much love and kisses stuff. Why is lou afraid to say that he is discipling a ball player?

BUT they have the second most World Series Championships (behind the Yankees). In fact, you've seen at least one Cardinal World Series win in you lifetime. More than can be said about the Cubs, who haven't won in your lifetime, or your father's, grandfathers and great grandfathers (at least). Yeah... the Rams suck, but they were in TWO Super Bowls this decade and have ONE Super Bowl Championship. Again, more than you can say about your Bears, who haven't won it all in 24 years now. I'll take the Super Bowl and a crappy team now, then a good team that hasn't won it in almost 25 years any day!

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Cubs sign Braddley because they needed a bat from the left side, then they bench him aagainst righties. Only with the Cubs does this kind of thing keep happening year after year.

You guys who want to get rid of Sorryano... Who would take him... If you asked for a bag of balls and you picked of 17 of the 18 million you still wouldn't get any takers! Why 10 days? With his obvious "talent", Sorry should be able to light up Triple A like a Christmas tree. I agree that he should be demoted until he can prove that he can hit .400 in the minors. It will never happen with his salary of course, but we Cub fans can always dream. GameBoy MB is another story. The Cubs were foolish to sign a DH hitter in the 1st place. However, I believe that the egos of the two gentlemen listed are the cause for this year's lack of "chemistry". Sending Sorry down just might be the key to clearing MB's head. It sure would send a signal to the rest of the team that they better start performing. The fans aren't going to take any more of this nonsense.

just kill me wrote: misery does love company. What do you all say...same time tomorrow? No. You read it here first. The Cubs will take the next three from St. Louis and the press, players and fans will all rant and rave about how this is good for the team to build momentum before teh All-Star break, yada, yada, yada. Then the Cubs are going to com out after the break and lose three in a row to back to .500. It's been this way all year, they go up, talk BS, then go down. The Cubs are playing .500 this year and unless Lou will pull the trigger to get the Iowa Cubs on the field, that's all you're going to see. The Central division this year is a dog and the real (NL) race is in the west. If you want to watch good baseball, watch the Dogders and Giants duke it out until the end of the season. Now that Bonds is gone, the Giants can start playing unfettered baseball again and it looks promising. it will be interesting to se what steroid Manny does.
