This is why we shouldn't have inmates working at the schools. I'll bet the children would be sneaking cigarettes to the inmates.

Thanks goodness Mayor Aikens has got everything under control. It's easy to tell when a seasoned management professional has taken the helm of a formerly dysfunctional organization.

Mayor Aikens will clean out the riff raff and put Lenoir City back on the path to greatness.

This story has been gong around town for two weeks. Why is it the News Sentinel, which doesnt even have a reporter covering Loudon county, can scoop these stories up beneath the nose of the News Herald?

I've been watching to see if that new clown at the NH is any better than the old clown. I guess he's not.

The News herald could hire a journalism student from Pellisippi to run that rag better than the current crew.

A 'lengthy probe by tbi' I wonder how much this 'lenghty probe' cost. With no jobs, homelessness, hunger to name just a few, I'd think there would be more important things to spend money on than an investigation on cigarette smuggling.

Hey, Numbnuts-TBI is a state agency funded by taxes. It's their job to investigate these type things. The Smith girl was just a carrier for the cigarettes. She was taking them to Julie Harvey's neice-MJ Mills-who is still in jail too. Guess you would think its a waste of tax dollars to have to investigate a fire in the jail too-if the idiots state a fire when they try to light their sneaked in smokes by jumping wires from the light fixtures to get a spark. See who pays for that. My GF was locked up with them when this went down & heard the plan.

I heard that the girls really liked the "lengthy probe by TBI" After all, it can get boring in a small town when a girl is gettin probed by the same old local cops over and over.

Them LC cops couldn't do a "lengthy probe" if they wanted to cause of their "probes" is too short anyhow.

What do you mean inmates working at the school. This happened at City Hall. This city maybe stupid Leslie but I don't think they're stupid enough to let inmates work at the school. Get your story straight before posting comments. Mayor Aikens having things under control, Thats a joke! If he cleaned out all the riff raff out there wouldn't be any city leaders.

I agree that Mayor Aikens deserves credit for every good thing that happens, and also every bad thing that doesn't happen.
While he has been mayor there have been no dirtybomb attacks in Lenoir City.
We are having a mild winter too. There have been no ice storms. If the previous mayor were still in there would have been numerous cars sliding dosn C Street. Those ice storms happened a lot when matt was mayor.
And did you notice nobody has stolen a city fire truck?

I am wondering,if this contraband issue had not happened would these infractions that was occuring behind the walls of almighty City Hall ever have surfaced, and to know who directly was at fault, and was that not motive enough for somebody to get fired, regardless of the contraband? Once again there is no transperency in LC politics.

There is lots of transparency in Lenoir City Hall. The little blonde wears see through blouses and ragged worn out bras and the brunette wears her pants so tight you can see the lines of her granny panties.
