AESTHETIC, Advantage Pimlico? LOL. Now I know your article is a joke, whew. For a minute there, I actually thought you were writing a serious article. Then I realized you're just another Baltimore Homer with your "Purple Colored Glasses" on.

I will take the Derby, The Haskell, or Saratoga on any Thursday morning for that matter over Pimlico on it's best day. How about a forum to refurbish Pimlico and get the neighborhood cleaned up? Then maybe you can talk about Pimlico being AESTHETICLY pleasing.

I guess you miss understood
I never said Pimlico was a pleasing area.
It is a crime how the area has went down hill, but thank the mayor of Baltimore she let it all happened.
Years ago it was I nice track when the Cohen had ownership.
Penn National Gaming is trying to acquite the Preakness to run at one of their tracks, But Don't
think that will happen soon.
Who knows Penn National may acquire Pimlico and clean it up.

Geez, Riverman, it's an awful long reach to blame Sheila Dixon for the deterioration of the Pimlico track and surrounding area. Years of neglect should not be attributed to the present mayor of Baltimore.

And I don't think the Preakness is going anywhere else. It's an institution here in Baltimore, and while many rattle the cage, it's not going to happen any time soon.

In the 70 and 80 Pimlico was not drug infested it is now. You could get gas aon Reisterstown road without station attendants behind bullet proof glass.
Yes Baltimore has retreated after the Shaffer years and Dixon took office.
Crime, drugs and murders up 13% since she took office.

Riverman....after the Shaeffer years, Kurt Schmoke held the office for over a decade, and then Martin O'Malley presided over the crumbling infrastructure of Baltimore. Mayor Dixon has only been in her present position for roughly two years. And the murder rate, as of this writing, is on pace to be the lowest in Baltimore City since the mid-1970s.

Are these just arbitrary numbers you are throwing out here? The last time I checked, murder is a crime. How do you quantify "drugs" being up 13%....and lump it in with "crime and murder?" The statistic you provide is almost impossible to actually determine.

What is your beef with Dixon? She's not responsible for Pimlico's ills. She's responsible for trying to fix them, no doubt. But you leap from Willy Don to Dixon as if Schmoke and O'Malley were just stopping by to say hello. We're talking about 20-plus years of neglect from the past two mayors as if they bumped into the city for a cold one.

Kurt Schmoke and Martin O'Malley are responsible for the slow demise of Pimlico Race Track and the neighborhood around it. Dixon was handed this mess.....I can only hope, as many others do, that she takes the necessary steps to revive the glory days.

Rivermare is your basic wanna be redneck malcontent. Keep arguing with him & he'll report you to the FBI HRA internet police & topix admin. Think I'm joking, I don't think he's been on a forum before & free speech is a concept he can't quite grasp.

Sorry, vomiting and nudity aren't my idea of what makes for a great horse racing experience. And as for the possibiltiy of a Triple Crown? The drunks in the infield don't even know there's a horse race going on.
Trying to find and thank you for the nice review. Sorry to be OT.
