He can't ride on his popularity forever. I don't think he has ever complained about the tracks this much. If he doesn't like them, he needs to practice on them more! JMO.

LONG POND, Pa. Dale Earnhardt Jr. considers a certain stretch of races in the summer portion of the Sprint Cup tour to be his Achilles' heel, and he's hoping to fix that in future campaigns.

1 He should do something. The fans want him to win more than one race. I can see all the drivers complaining about the heat, that is expected. maybe someone should tell them, the beer in the belly makes the situation with the heat worse. He needs to quit complaining so much, it is a turn off. |

Yes! He's getting too old to be partying so much anyway if that's what it is and take care of himself better. It's time to be a man Jr! JMO |

JMO here but he needs to focus more on the big piture rather than the sex, drugs (beer) and rock & roll. He can def get it done but he needs to be giving that 100% effort !!! |

I disagree with you completely. I don't feel like he was making excuses at all. I see plenty of effort from him to win, he is just being smart about the choices he makes on the track and what position he puts himself in. I haven't seen him drop like a rock whenever he has been passed this year. Granted, there are some races where he will lose a few on the start but there are others where he gains a few. If he wanted to ride on his popularity forever, don't you think that he would have stayed at DEI for the durstion of his caeer? Going to Hendrick showed that he wants to be known for what he does on track, not for some award. The only track he has really said that he didn't like was Infineon. If doesn't like a track, he has the right to say so. We say that we want our drivers to say what they feel, yet when they do we say they are complaining, making excuses etc. He does the best he can do on any particular track each and every week. As a fan, that is all I ask for and I am proud of the effort he puts forth each and every week. JMO. |

1 He is giving it 100%. You would have to be blind not to see that. I think he isn't as much of a partier as other people like to think. |

1 There really are some REALLY BAD tracks out there! I remember racing over at OSW (Bithlo) and geez was that a nasty-ass track!!! They'd burn off the rubber after every new setup, but it still didn't make any damned difference! They needed to get a few guys with shovels to dig and scrape the melted rubber off to make a difference! Suicide lane's my preferred lane, but at Bithlo it was the worst. Lakeland DS was great but short 1/8 mile and the right lane had f-ing potholes in it for goodness sakes. These tracks (all of them) not just the strips; need to get re-paved every once in a Blue Moon or so, IMO. They rake in enough money to update them once every 15 years don't ya think? Just my unimportant 2 cent; bottom line is I agree with him, has nothing to do with trying hard enough on crappy tracks..... it has to to with the luck of the driver to avoid the debris, potholes, oil spots, and rubber mounds. On the icky tracks it's not competence it's just dumb luck, IMO. |

JR has raced these tracks a long time and should know them by now! I agree that the Indy race, that was the worst mess I have ever seen in racing and Nascar was fools to not end that race and set it for another track, it was a total dieaster!! I still hope he can whip JG and JJ but looks like that wont happen. A lot of the tracks I agree need to be worked on but they also need to get rid of "GOODYEAR" Truth is, JG and JJ are champion drivers and they aint moving over for JR.

1 I disagree. Jr has finished ahead of JG and JJ many times this year. He's always had a summer slump, he will get out of it soon. He finished 4th in June, and he was second here last year. |

1 Well your right I don't know about Jr and his drinking habits. I do hope that it's exaggerated but a few weeks ago they were showing him in an after race interview and he was out of breath and it appeared as if he was having trouble even standing up. Yes I know it's 100 degrees but the other drivers don't appear to be having these problems . Maybe it's stress, lack of rest or maybe it's because he is so much busier than the other drivers. I don't know, just felt like something was off a bit with him. Now saying that I still feel with my gut instincts that concerning JR the best is yet to come !! |

1 I don't think he has put much effort in racing in the past few races. He didn't make the top 10 in a few of them. He has a good car. I just get so aggravated. There are times I think he has an ego problem, he knows he is the most popularity and it has been said that there would be no Nascar without him. That will give any person a big ego. There are 2 races that come to mind. One JG passed him for the lead and he dropped back. the other he was in 3rd and Matt Kennseth passed him and he dropped back. In both of these races he was up front and had a good car. He didn't have any car problems at all. The thing is he had a fast car for both races, yet he dropped back. I just don't understand it. I would like him to win again and maybe he should be a little more aggressive. JMO |
