it doesn't get mentioned enough that Cribbs' dad was an outstanding runner for the Bills<quoted text>
No kidding, cribbs is the play maker. I'd say he needs at least 5 touches a game minimum in addition to his kick returns. Get the ball in his hands and let's win some games. Go Browns.

Man I hope he can keep up the production, I think the running game is night and day since he got here. We just need to keep it going. I didn't know that the ravens let him go for knee problems. That doesn't make much sense since he appears to be in top form. I just hope he can keep it going. |

I forgot about that but wasn't that really early in his career? I think he only played a couple of seasons with them. Once the Steelers got him they sure hung on to him. I used to hate to see that guy against us. It made for some really long games. I think we got a real shot this year to stop the bleeding on defense against the run. |
|
I can see them throwing the ball more. It worked pretty well last season. I'm glad we got the running back to get us through the rough weather though. I think our qb is going to have a good year the d-line is more of a question mark for me. These guys are for real. |

It was actually much simple than that. It was a disagreement in years and money. they were still trying to sign him when the Browns got him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story... " General manager Ozzie Newsome said the team still hoped to re-sign him. The agent for the running back, Mitch Frankel, said Lewis' release wouldn't impede the negotiation process." |

The Rams did not 'dump' Bettis. Quite the contrare. After winning rookie of the year honors he came back and had a sub par year. Before the next year started, the Rams coach let it be known that they were planning to move him to more of a fullback role. Bettis, who already wanted a restructured contract, said "I won't play FB and now that you said it, I don't want to play for you". The Steelers, knowing he fit the perfect role in their offense waited til the day of the draft and on their pick, gave an offer the Rams could not refuse: "We will make your headache go away for a trade of a first round pick. You have 12 min. to decide." No brainer, Rams get additional first rounder, Steelers get the equivelent of a first rounder- everbody is happy. The rest is history. |
I'll bet they wished they had him back last season! The guy they picked up isn't too bad but I don't think he is as good as lewis. |

1 Wont happen, there's no way Lewis has got 4 more in him. After he fell short of the rushing title it made him soft, hurt his little feelings it did!!! 2 years max, he's beat up. |

Im speaking of the 39 yards short of Dickerson, that is. We all know he had 295 in a game.
|
yeah, okay. he really ran like he was beat up last year. give me a break, you really cant watch a football game and process information can you. face it. your just pissed that fat boy might get beat out. bettis took more punishment than lewis has at this point in his career. |

what i meant is. they have to get smarter and learn a completly new system than college. so yes they will improve. but as far as physically no. like i said earlier if its so easy then why aint every wr after college running in the 4.0 range and lineman in the 4.8. there form and blocking and route running can improve but you cant teach speed and you can only get so strong. if you play football for 13 to 14 years and just got drafted you pretty much have tryed every workout and routine out there. your pretty much toped out, unless your juicing, then its a different ballgame. and we know how your steeler players love to juice. i know a couple of people that played in div 1 and one or two that went pro but played a year or two and they all say the same thing, so its not like im making this up. you just dont understand. hell the one div 1 program spent 250,000 a year just on weight gain shakes just for football program. so dont sit here and tell me that its so easy and everybody can do it. maybe-maybe a slim percent can and thats it |

1 Eventually there is bound to be a RB to surpass Bettis, no doubt. I just dont think it will be Lewis. |

This dude chucklehead is no athlete and knows nothing about training the body. Most athletes when they enter the pros are around 22 years old. They can not only get stronger and faster but also heavier. Men start adding muscle in their mid teens. By age 22 they have been adding muscle and weight for ~6 years. You have to assume that most of these athletes have not been under the direct supervision of the best strength trainers. When they get to NFL they improve not just in strength but also technique. They can get faster and stronger as a result. Chucklehead has probably never lifted a weight or run windsprints in his adult life.(unless you count 12oz curls and sprinting to the bathroom to pee during commercial breaks.... |

1 Only a homer, such as yourself, would compare retread lewis to Bettis and come away thinking retread is better. Chucklehead. Lewis has been pounded in the pros for ~9 years. He won't last 2 more seasons. He'll be lucky to join the 10k club. End of story. Football lesson over. Chuckleheaded fool. |

You know I was talking to a boxing coach the other day and he said that a boxer reaches his coordinational peak at about 27, he said it was true with all athletes. |
