North Torrance holds off rival West

Saxons dominated the whole game score doesn't say it but a couple special team miscues led to 14 pts. 5-0!!!!!!!! Great job Saxons

Well, I wanted to be the first to comment this week! North did a fantastic job and our boys deserved this win. We came, we fought and we kicked butt!!!! I hope you arrogant West High folks, who have been blogging unkind things lately, had a good taste of Humble pie last night. I am a supporter of Torrance schools and I have been to many West High games over the past years when they have done well and gone to play offs, even though I graduated from North and have children there. Rivalrys are fun but to be hateful and after 45 years still hate and comment about it, not only on the internet, but also at a Hall of Fame dinner is not only childish, but down right rude to other there to support.Get over it and support Torrance as a Community and love your City.Oh, and by the way, Overbey is awesome. Who couldn't cheer for him no matter what side you sat on.

Way to go Saxons! I applaud your great efforts last night. You showed West that they are not the best in rivalry this year. Many thanks to all of the Saxons football team this year for the relentless efforts to make this a great winning season. And to my son, Ernie Geluz #55, All of your family wishes you many more well deserved accomplishments!

West yet finds another way to show their explosive no-offense offense. Ha! What a joke! Go North!

I forgot! Congrats to all 3 North high football teams this week! All 3 teams beat West High! Freshmen won, Junior varsity won and oh, Varsity won! Victory is sweet and watching the bloggers lose is all that much more special, Maybe West should plat PV again. Much more on their level this year........

However, it wouldn't have been a win had West's #8 not dropped the ball, it was a great pass and he was all alone...what was that? That play could have meant a tie instead of a loss for West! "Saxon Alumni" is right, Garrett Overbey is a GREAT addition to "West's" team this year.

Too bad there was a holding penalty on that play, so his drop didn't mean anything! It would've been called back, genious!

Doesn't matter how long it's been since we've beaten you, what matters most today is that we did beat you and the whole South Bay is happy. And yes we will enjoy and enjoy and enjoy, thank you.

for any Dad that should be proud it's your QB dad, that kid is the real deal, he carried your team.

Then DON'T...It was nice to see a Dad praise his son. There are to many "Dads", that put pressure on their sons to be the football player they never were.

If you didn't notice #55 was the starting tackle for north he's the one that blocks for the qb you call a stud.#55 had a big impact along with #3 #8#6 if you didn't notice your qb couldn't set his feet all might on pass plays. So maybe you should watch other positions other than the qb and you'll be better informed

I have noticed a common response from some "Westies". If you make a comment they don't agree with they will say you are a "non-athlete" or you never played the game. If your team beats theirs (like North and THS) they will try to rain on your parade by bringing up "history", as if the ghosts of Warrior past will magically change the results of the 2008 season. Anyone else notice this?

What I notice, and the reason why I called North QB a stud, he was moving all around in and out and was very mobile and accrete with his passes, further more without north QB I dont think that north wins.
In regards to #55 if he was so outstanding at right tackle North QB wouldnt of been running around for his life, But North Qb by far the best Qb West has seen, as for West Qb not a good night.
Again Congrats to North they wanted it more and out played for 3 quarters.
