Who looks like an NFC North contender? (It's not the Lions)

The Vikings are on the cusp of an important stretch of their season, and despite a slow start, they're still in position to contend for the NFC North title.

Here's the scoop on the Lions........they're a pro football team with pro football players. They'll line up and hit just like any other pro football team.

Forget them running the ball, the Vikings have problems covering the pass, and guess what? The Lions receivers are way above average, isn't that where their draft has focused over the last several years?

Last, but not least.......no team is afraid of the Vikings!

... and we should be afraid of the Lions, why? Doesn't matter about the WR, the QB is a rook, butt sniff.

I have to disagree Gus....at least for now. Vikes could be on the way up, while the Pack is injury ridden and probably in for a long season. Lions with the same coach are the same team as last year, the only wild card in the deck is da Bears...again, at least for now.

Are you ready for some football?

Here is the deal. If there special teams don't give up big plays they win every game other than the -4 turnover ratio they gave up against the Titans. They gave up only 13 points to one of the best passing offenses in the league in New Orleans. So look at how the Vikes do per pass play b/c teams usually give up on the run after the first half and pass almost every play.
Griffen is getting better and T.Johnson is playing well for a rookie. Winfield has proved to be a top five corner in the league this year so piss on anybody that is too stupid to see that the Vikes pass D is actually pretty good. Look at the pass attemps idiots!

EVERY TEAM IS AFRAID TO RUN AGAINST THE VIKES and so are the Lions. Vikes go on winning streak, block better for AP and soon teams will not send 9 in the box b/c Gus hits the open recievers on the outside. Go Vikes!

Every team in the North has weakenesses, including the Vikings. Our main weakness, at least among the "contenders" is our Coach..........Wasn't he supposed to be an offensive wiz??? Well, his offense is offensive!

No one is afraid to "run" against the Vikings, but why run for four yards a carry when you can pass at will on the secondary?

I'd like nothing better than to see this Vikings team "gel" and beat the Lions 50-0.

What I don't want to see is overconfidence that this will simply happen. At this point, the game score is 0-0, and the Vikings season, so far, is 2-3.

Vikings will take a giant step backwards today and lose to the lions. Time to take off the purple blinders this team can stop the run can't stop the pass and if they are not within seven points have no offensive production. This team couldn't hold the jock straps for the nfc east.

I agree. They do have excellent recievers. But you know, it'll be hard for them to get the ball to those recievers when they have a back up QB throwing AND their O-line is terrible. Plus, they shouldn't be on the field too much since their run defense is absolute garbage and we have Peterson.

I'm not wearing purple blinders. I can just see how terrible Detroit is playing and know what to expect. We are by no means are completely dominant team, but compared to Detroit, we should have this victory pretty handily.

I predicted the Lions 1st victory about 4 or 5 days ago. I'm currently watching the game which is 2 to nothin' in the 2nd quarter. I said if the Vikings do win it'll be a close game and it's really looking like i was way way way off the mark ;)

it's 10-9 right now and the vikes may win, but childress should not wait to be fired, he should seek out ziggy and hand in the resignation. even he must see what i see: the players have no respect for him. period.

Does Childress have relatives on the officials staff? For the second week strait, they have benefited from official badly blown calls?

Oh well, a win is a win 3-3

Vikes win as they should have. Too bad I missed the game in church lol. Wasn't praying for Chili or Vikes.
Chili needs to get his head out of his ***. This score against this team and lack of featuring AP and let him rip them up is unexcuseable. He is collecting votes for early retirement at this rate.
I wish the players could auto-ignite themselves and kick the tweedle out of every team starting next week in spite of the coaching and take the coaches out on tackles by the sidelines lmao. Wishful thinking of divine intervention. Back to church for me.
Go Vikes and focus on next week.
