Bonds among topics at Yankees' meetings

I hope we sign him!! It will cost a minimal amount of money, and I believe he could add a spark, and become an integral part of this wonderful Yankee organization!!

AS a fan of the NY Yankess for 52 years, if they sign this piece of human trash,I will never again follow this team,to even entertain thoughts of signing him shows me how effing desperate they have become,even though it seems like they are "righting" the ship at present. Brian Cashman is without a doubt the biggest "garbageman" in all sports, every player that gets released by another team he signs, but this one would be the last straw,with me, and PS, the so called yankee fanatic who posted above, either you are a newbie,or a Met fan, which is it!

Barry Bonds it not worthy to wear the uniform of Ruth, Gehrig, Joe D., the Mick, Yogi, Scooter, and so on.
He would be a disgrace to the pin stripes.
(By the way, I am a Brooklyn Dodger/Met fan.)

Controversy, insanity, heroes, villans...I've seen a lot of it.

I was around for the Bronx Zoo. More madness on a baseball diamond never happened.

But the idea of a drug user who's lied and dodged so much that even HE believes himself is an awful thought.

Imagine him being managed by Huggins, McCarthey, Stengel, Houk, Billy or even Yogi. His name would never deserve to even be uttered in the same sentence as those just mentioned.

Keep him away from the Bronx, away from our beloved team (who are currently on a tear!), away from we fans and away from the grandest name in American sport.

No one in New York nor the U.S. has done anything to deserve the shame it would bring.

This coming from my fellow Yankee fans who welcomed Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, and Steve Howe into the mix. If they feel Bonds can help the team, sign him. The man can still hit, there is little doubt of that.
By the way Jafo...are you ready to give back the championships the Yanks won with Clemens? Looks like he is going to do much more jailtime than Mr Bonds.

Give the guy a break!! We all make mistakes!! Just think of those shots over the right field porch!! Oh baby!! And I am a long time Yankee fan.

It amazes me that my fellow Yankee fans let Giambi and Pettite slide...yet crucify Bonds. Why? Because he wont say he did it? So if Bonds admitted he used steroids, he would be ok on the Yankees is what you are basically saying.

This is the easiest decision. Sign him. We need a big bat. His OBP is insane. Imagine him and A-Rod back to back. We are giving up nothing and getting a huge bat in the middle of the order.

Screw Bonds, The Yankees should sign Ray Navarrete of the Long Island Ducks. Here is a guy who should be in the major leagues. He runs out every at bat, can play infield or outfield, is batting .332 with 17 hr's, 22 doubles and has a .603 slugging percentage. He has 92 hits in 69 games. He has scored 63 runs with pretty good speed. I can't believe no team has given him a chance, if anyone deserves it, he does.

Why are they even considering this man? The Yankees will lose a lot of loyal fans if this guy gets signed.
Just because the Yankees may have had other "bad" players doesn't mean they have to perpetuate the problem by intentionally signing a known rotten apple. I don't care how well he seems to play or what his stats are.
At some point you have to consider what type of man he is - and no way does he measure up.

As a long time Yankee fan, I can say with all honesty, I'd rather lose then see this cancer in a Yankee uniform! He's a self centered one man clubhouse destruction crew! The man is a cancer!

Now, if the Yanks can get him cheap (for them, anyway), why not? If he can still hit, why not?
Look at all our grief over Moises Alou, one of the good guys, to be sure, and a pure hitter. Decent fielder, too. Considering what we have now, if Barry could play the field, we'd have to think about it.
It all depends can Barry still hit.
A 75% Barry hits .280 with 30 dingers.
It's up to you guys. Who gives a darn about steroids. They were ALL DOING THEM. Barry and McQuire and a few others just happened to be more obvious about it.

I agree with you regarding his potential to hit the seats at the stadium and the steroids are ancient history in my mind, however, I'm concerned about him being a cancer to the team. I'd rather lose then take a chance with this pompous A H. Just my opinion as a long time Yankee fan!
