Lingle dismisses Obama's local ties - News

Lingle is a joke. Barak Obama has more right to claim Hawaii as "home" than Lingle does. Linda Lingle is mainland haole who moved to Hawai'i with her father in the 70's. Barak Obama was born in Hawai'i', and has family still living in Hawai'i'. Because he chose a path that led to the mainland does not diminish his roots in Hawai'i. I, like Linda Lingle, was born on the mainland, then later spent my entire Adult life in Hawai'i until last year when my career took me to the Mainland. Hawai'i will always be 'home' to me. Both of my children were born in Honolulu at Kapiolani, they are FROM Hawai'i, but now live on the mainland. To them, Hawai'i will also always be "home". Linda Lingle's actions and comments toward Obama are so un-Hawai'ian that she should move back to St. Louis...

What's gotten into Lingle? She's been mean-spirited, disrespectful, and mendacious the past couple of months. Is a medical condition or medication causing her unusual behavior? Or is this one of those "Follow the money trail" things? What's going on here? Is anyone at the Star-Bulletin investigating this?

I don't care if some of his roots was from Hawaii and he has a half sister there, had some education, but like Gov. Lingle said, he did nothing else, never voted there and has no experience but knowledge. McCain got both and it doesn't matter to me if it's a Republican or Democrat, I will not vote for O'Bama and Michele cannot be the first lady of the US. Sorry!!

Lazy Mazie says: "Hawaii shaped the life of Obama, and our nation will be better for it."...correct!

Too bad neither Japan or Hawaii shaped up our do-nothing representative: Lazy Mazie, so our State would be better for it! Mazie loves to make comments but has never brought home the bacon!

What does it mean when people like Pineapple say things like Michelle Obama cannot be First Lady. Like they will it,, so it will be. Sorry Pineapple, Obama will be elected and Michelle will be First Lady, get used to it.

I guess she's can't help herself due to the party she belongs to. Lies, Lies, Lies! Bush lied about Iraq. Palin can't remember what newspaper or publications she read and lies on 'Trooper Gate.' Oh, I forgot Sen. Larry Craig just had a wide foot stance.

Lingle has turned mean, like McCain and that pitbull VP candidate. The Republicans have been running a campaign of fear and negativity.

The votes see right through this, especially the danger the Repbulicans has exposed America in this election, quick trigger McCain and Palin. This is why Obama/Biden will be the next president/VP.

An odd statement coming from Governor Carpetbagger. I was born and raised here and I value the experiences that people, even tourists, have when they share our ethos. We do have an influence on the world.

I truely respect Lingle's gubernatorial abilities, but I really think she shows poor judgement in her campaingning for the Republican ticket. Gimme a break, Palin is not quality, and Lingle should know that.

Linga Lingle is not a resident of Hawaii either. She spends more time on the mainland than tourists spend in Hawaii. What happened governor? Me thinks linda no longer wants to be part of Hawaii. Maybe we should buy her a one way ticket to nowhere!

Gov. Lingle must have been captivated by the Gov. of Alaska at the NR Convention. Lingle also share the same great political experience with Palin because they share the same Pacific Ocean. Waiting to see if Palin claims to see Hawaii from her office and they both will claim that Palin is more Hawaiian than Obama.

What's disturbing about Lingle's behavior is that it is so at odds with her previously principled behavior. McCain and Palin are so patently unfit to lead this country that any claim otherwise is at best laughable and at worst pathetic. The RNC must be paying Lingle some incredibly huge bucks to make it worth her while to disgrace herself in public as she has done the past two months. It's a sorry sight and sets a bad example for the young people of Hawaii for whom Lingle instead should be a role model.

Lingle's going for the bucks from the GOP for her US Senate run in 2010, bottom line. She's for sale, and will do and say anything to get what she wants. Ask her about restricting abortion rights, Christian schools, and same-sex marriage and just watch the 'ole 2-step.....

Lingle has done more for Hawaii in one day than what Obama has done in his lifetime. The only tie Obama has here in Hawaii is his birth place and school.

Governor Lingle is not 'from' Hawaii. She wasn't born here, didn't go to school or grow up here, and cannot claim the Hawaii birth certificate which B. Obama can. How dare she tell others Hawaii cannot claim pride in having the first locally, legitimate Presidential candidate who was born here, spent his youth and primary education here as being "from Hawaii?" She should watch her lip! Lingle's a Mainland Haole thru and thru if she thinks she can diss local borns while dancing to the tune of her biased political bent and does not deserve to be Hawaii's "governor." She is kissing up to the Mainland Republican bosses and has no respect for true locals! She is sounding very much like a Colonial ruler who thinks no one born in Hawaii has much importance unless he/she were from some more elitist class of society.

Linda Lingle is a fool. Obama "spent some time in the state"? He was born there and did most of his growing up in Hawaii. Her comments are just as weird as she is. Why doesn't she go live in Alaska and give the people of Hawaii a break... get lost.
