You and your pucker brethren need to worry about that free falling team you back. Of course you don't want the Vikings in Minnesota, then maybe you won't have to send your rent check to them, dummy.

These stadium organizers are probably Tea-Party members on other issues who see no contradiction between opposing healthcare reform, yet want Us to build yet another stadium for billionaires and millionaires. No Way! IF there had been any logic to this whole stadium process, the Vikes and the Gophers would have been told to combine the design that was built on campus. I'm not interested in subsidizing the well-heeled who can afford tickets to have their subsidized play palace while more people go hungry. I'd have to help pay for Zygi's stadium and I'll probably never attend a game!

If stadiums were built because a team earned it, then the Gophers would still be playing in Memorial stadium. We, meaning the voting public, not me, voted through an arts/outdoors bill when we already fund a DNR here in this state. It is more important to many people to have less starving artists around than a state treasure like the Vikings. Priorities are personal, and the Vikings are pretty high up my priority list. Good post. I agree with you here. The Twins play 81 home game a year, putting them outside in a new stadium was the top priority for getting out of the dome. The Gophers could have stadyed but they didnt deserve it any more than the vikings do. Both the vikings and gophers dont deserve new stadiums but I think building TCF bank stadium is much cheaper than building a new NFL stadium (especially if they want to put a roof on it). The nice thing about the gopher stadium is that it is on campus and I went to a game, it is awesome. The dome isnt a bad NFL venue (the vikes actually have an advantage playing in the dome so staying there isnt bad). But at this point, I would vote no more new stadiums....

if the state doesnt do anything by 2011 the vikings will ge GONE!!!! yes thats right WILL BE GONE!!!!!! does anyone remember the MINNEAPOLIS LAKERS with all those championships and where did they end up in LOS ANGELES. the only time things get done is when its in the legislators best interest. also, does anyone remember that the anoka county had put into place a tax for the staduim to be built there, well when they decided not to build it there that the anoka county kept the tax in place anyways. so all you fricking whiners either get your asses involved and call, e-mail or write a letter to your representatives or shut the f*@^ up.

Every other team in the NFL that is playing in new digs were subsidized stadium wise by their state. I pay taxes like everyone else and I am tired of supporting deadbeat welfare f-ups and artsy fartsy b-**** that I have no interest in. I want a new stadium as do alot of people on this forum and we are as entitled to it as the next taxpayer. The one difference being that my want leads to income generation and your want leads to decimation of a city that struggles to survive. just because other states have done it, does not make it right, and wil this state billions in debt YOU are not entitled to a stadium

No, we are not spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars so a bunch of blue collar drunk middle aged dorks with face paint can act like 12 year olds. You can do that in your own house for free. Bug the crap out of your wife, we don't want to see it.

Think about it: The Metrodome hold around 68,000......a new stadium has the potential to hold 80,000. At least 8 games per year (maybe more) PLUS 80,000 = 640,000 HUNGRY FANS WHO WANT NOTHING BUT BEER AND FOOD!! Now, BESIDES telling me how many PEOPLE will be put to work JUST BUILDING THE PLACE.....how many people will BE PERMANENTLY EMPLOYED once it opens?? And how many employees will LOSE THEIR JOBS OR LOCAL BUISNESS WILL LOSE PATRONS if the Vikings leave town?????????? THINK ABOUT IT..........DUMB A $$$$$$!!!! It's a WIN - WIN SITUATION!!! SUCCESSFULL ECONOMY = EMPLOYING CITIZENS + PLEASING THE GENERAL PUBLIC SO THEY SPEND MONEY AT LOCAL BUISNESSES!!!!! BUILDING A NEW STADIUM WILL DO JUST THAT! ANY MORON KNOWS THAT MUCH!! LETTING THE VIKINGS GO....WILL ULTIMATELY BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE MINNESOTA ECONOMY AS WE KNOW IT!!! GO VIKINGS!!!!!!! AND BUILD THE DAMN STADIUM!!! I, FOR ONE, WILL ""NOT"" VOTE FOR ANYONE IN OFFICE WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT THE BUILDING OF A NEW STADIUM!! and if I think this way, you Politicians should KNOW that many others do also!!!!!! Build it, and they will come. Build it, and they will come.

Took your QB and made him into something again. Is your needle point class full again? Sorry kid we aren't talking about the football game but if I must say so myself it seems like the viking fans can't stop themselves from posting about the storied franchise of the Packers. You know teams have good and bad years but I think the vikings bad years outway their good ones. Defination of storied franchise Has a history of championships and success. Willingness to spend and do what's needed to win...Professional in how they treat players, coaches and fans. Reverence for the game. Having a team for love of the game instead of love of the money(even if its' all money) A team with many historical moments in history. Celtics, Lakers, Pistons etc. Same goes with every other sport like Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers etc. for Baseball. Theres a lot of history and tradition with storied franchises. I don't see the Vikings in there at all. Oh wait I do see one that is interesting. http://pubpages.unh.edu/~crt36/project/teamhi... http://www.profootballhof.com/history/stats/w...

Taking money by force from someone to give to another is criminal. No founding father would be proud of giving citizens money to the very wealthy. This is stealing. Call it by other names but you are taking my kids' college savings from me to give to others. If I don't pay, I go to jail. Shame on you!
Thomas Jefferson worried that he was violating the constitution when he purchased the Louisiana Territory. He would laugh at our state and federal governments, and then cry.
Stealing to give to millionaires. Wow, how government serves the middle class. We pay for the poor and we pay for the rich.
This should be illegal!

No Vikings means relative obscurity. Name a state that thrives without an NFL team. Let me help your narrow mind. These are the states without teams. Oregon Iowa Nevada North Dakota South Dakota Maine Rhode Island Mississippi Missouri New Mexico I am quite sure I forgot many more because that is how obscure they have become. The only state above that enjoys any fame is Nevada. Now think about this. If the Vikings leave You can watch Minneapolis turn into the worlds largest innercity cesspool. Democrats are like teets on a bull.
