Class wrote: What happened before the half with the C-burg coaches and McD coaches in the booth? Heard they almost got into a fight. According to one of our coaches, a real classless coach from Cburg, dude with black hair and short, said "good for him, that's what you get" when the kid from McD got hurt before half so our coach confronted him. Now you wonder why your kids act like they do. Real class act! I guess everybody wants to expell kilpatrick, now they will have a reason to fire the coaching staff. come on chambersburg its football.

shotglass wrote: Yup. That's what's happening. CHAMBERSBURG (AP)-- A transfer student from Sugar Land, Texas, has claimed that he was turned away from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School's first football practice Monday. Kenny Motorlegs, the defending Texas Class 6A 100- and 200-meter champion, said Chambersburg coach Don Carruthers told him he was not what the program was looking for at this time. "Speed wasn't on their agenda, he told me," said Motorlegs, an all-state second team running back last fall as a sophomore at Sugar Land. "He said they'd rather lose with Chambersburg Steelers than win with hotshot Texas kids." Carruthers, pressed for comment, laughed at the Associated Press reporter and walked away. The whole point with the kid from Virginia he was also turned away WHY ...He just wanted to play.

It is football. So there is NO excuse for a coach to say that about an injured player. Classless just like the kid who threw his helmet.

You never see any of the coaches talking to the players when they come off the field except for one or two of the coaches. Some of the coaches are just like some of the players. They are on the field just to say look at my jersey or coaches shirt I'm wearing. Not because they want to play or coach football, but to impress someone in the stands.

1) Gotta have talent; we have none 2) Faust does well because it plays older players...does everyone now undertstand? think about it... 3) Chambersburg has NEVER been a football power except for short periods of time. It 'll happen again, but to win in this divisiion you need a L0T of studs.

After reading today's 109 posts, can anyone please explain to me why a competent, experienced coach would want to get involved with the Chambersburg football program?

Answer to points wrote: the point system was done over the winter to get the boys in the weight room and keep up grade they would recieve shirts, jersey and other special reward as far as tryout there is none the boys must attend double days starting in Aug that is where the coaches start making the team and as boys being cut the coaches don't cut them they quit Thank you for answering my question. I no longer have any kids in the system. So, I really didn't know how it worked. The special rewards don't seem so far out of hand...I kind of think that's a good idea myself, anything to get kids motivated. I just didn't understand. The way people were talking on here, it seemed you didn't make the team if you didn't lift weights. So that's not true, huh?

fan wrote: <quoted text> You guys are all hiprocrits. those two players are decent kids who are frustrated because of all the losses. Did you forget that as freshmen they were 8-1. and many of those same freshman are starting as SOPHOMORES. The team is young. If the coaches would have kicked them off many of you would be saying, what is wrong with these coaches getting rid of all the talent. the staff doesn't want to win because they kick off all the talent. With you community members, coaching here is a lose - lose situation. why don't you all talk to a coach on the staff and get the real story. You won't because you will be very surprised at what the TRUTH is. Plus you don't have the guts to talk to one of them face to face. everyone (coaches and players) is trying to win. I agree with you. The Juniorsof this year when in 9th grade came to CASHS with a seven & two year. They were also good players.

not again wrote: Don't judge these kids by the conduct of one. They work hard, they try hard, they play as hard as they can,so get off their backs. Did you see the size of some of the Bishop McDevitt players? Since so many of you know the solution to problem why don't you take action. The Board meets twice a month. Show your support for these kids when they take the field on the last home game against Carlisle. Make these kids feel that C-burg fans are behind them. Sure did..program book said one was 5'11" & 280 some pounds. Now that is big to me for a high school kid.

Faust does not play older players..this I know as I had a grandson playing for Faust. So you don't understand. 3. When I was in high school Chambersburg had a good team every year. We didn't lose to many. Back then we would be playing local teams(Waynesboro, Hagerstown, ect.) and a few away in other areas.
