I heard the name Mussina. That rat bastard had a nice home in Mooresville, PA, near Baltimore. His family was VERY happy there. The Orioles offered him $65 Million. The Yankees offered him $85 Million. He uprooted his family, and left the Orioles. Like in the movie, "Wall Street"........ "How many yachts can you water-ski behind?" I have no ill will toward Erik Bedard and Miguel Tejada. They were both traded, neither of whom asked to be. But Mussina? GRRRRRRR!
It's actually Montoursvile, PA and I am from there as well...his parents still live there b/c his father is a lawyer in town...just to set the story straight

What the heck is Trembley talking about in that quote about "silence all the nonsense?" What nonsense is he talking about?

I was a little nervous when Cabrera was still pitching in the eighth and the ninth inning but it paid off. He was outstanding last night and though I'm not completely convinced he has changed yet he is doing great and if this continues throughout the season than I will believe. I do want him to succeed because if he can pull it together than we know he can be a dominant pitcher.

But yeah, it's great to see DCab pitch so dominantly. Granted, it was only the KC Royals but he looks like he finally gets it. His whole mindset has seemingly changed. He's trying to get guys out, instead of striking people out. He's not wild, and he's got his head on straight. He's also developed a nice breaking ball to compliment his fastball. All good things. It's GREAT to see.
I'm torn though - if he keeps this up do we move him by the trade deadline? I think Loewen's injury changes things a bit, but would you flip DCab when he's finally living up to the potential we all knew he had? Tough call, but that's why MacPhail is in charge and not me.
If you can class DCab with Webb one day then that will be the day the Orioles hope DCab is still on the roster. But he is getting closer to being a better pitcher.

Cabrera:"I am trying to remember nothing in the past. I am just keeping forward from here, man."
Daniel, those who forget their past are doomed to repeat it. Remeber your past mistakes so you don't make them again - dude!
Get over it! Starters relievers and all players need a short memory so they can forget about what happened last time to better concentrate on doing a good job this time around. If you every played sports you would know that! He has learned from his past of walking people, but there is no need to keep reminding him that you still want him to fail.

The article doesn't do the 9/28/06 outing justice. Cabrera came within two outs of no-hitting the Yankees that night. Robinson Cano did the dirty deed of breaking it up. Fans in Yankee Stadium gave him a standing ovation after that. He's always had the potential.

Im torn on trading Cabrera. Just considering the reason to make a trade...to get better and younger. Cabrera is 26. IF he continues to pitch lights out (and I mean consistent lights out) that isnt a bad starting pitcher to build a staff around. I guess it would all have to depend on what was offered.

Remembering your mistakes so as not to do them again is called LEARNING!
Go lick an electric outlet, forget about the pain, then do it again, again, and over and over. See how forgetting has helped you better concentrate on doing a good job licking the electric outlet. You're a dumba$$.

We all know how Cabrera can be. Spotty performances. Before I jump on his bandwagon I want to see him consistently pitch well. Why has Terry Crowley still have a job?
Cabrera hasn't throw with this degree of consistency EVER. This is a good sign.

As for Crowley, I asked Dave Johnson that on the Tom Davis Show on MASN last Saturday. Dave basically said, and this is me loosely translating what he said, "when you're given sh*t, you make sh*t sandwiches".

I buy it to a certain degree, but, not completely.

Let's keep Cabrera and trade you - for a bag of pucks or, better yet, some pine tar.
A few years ago Cabrera started out strong and before the O's made any moves he imploded (and exploded in a few fights). My point is I am happy that Cabrera is playing well but let's try to get some value for him while he his stock is up.

Taking that number 35 off his back has made a difference. Keep that number off the roster. After Mussina retires and misses out on the HOF the hex should be gone. The number 40 looks good on Daniel. And he is superstitious.

How can you refute Jim Palmer always saying that you cant change what is in the past, learn from it, then put it behind you and move on. If you dwell on the past then thats no good and you will never be able to grow as a person. I think what DCab was trying to say is that he is not worrying about the past because he cant change it. You can only change what you can control and the past is not one of them. And what is with the name calling, eh? I certianly didnt call anyone any names... now you're just being like a child.

But I guess I defend DCab too much, but there will always be the ones who always wanna piss on everyone's parade.

D Cab pitched a whale of a game. One walk and 7 K's. Let's shoot for seven straight quality starts! He's been pitching against quality teams such as the Mariners, Yankees, White Sox, Angels, and the Rays, which is even more impressive. The light bulb finally came on for him which is a good sign for the O's!

Go O's!
