Tom "brought-my-hairdresser-t o-the-super-bowl" Brady is another story. That dude is gone for the season. Brady drives the pats bus and the team will just be average without him. Bilitits is not even a winning coach without brady behind center. His record in cleveland sucked.
Hey, Bob. As painful as the Colts game was to watch, I do take consolation in the fact that they lost to a very good defense, and, as you say, Manning looked really rusty. How many times do Da Bears have to blitz before you catch a LB or DB in single coverage and burn them?

I have every confidence that the Vikings will find their hands full next week. Although, I must say, I am NOT looking forward to seeing Mr. Peterson.

Isn't there also some issue with the colts O line or the center or something?

Did you catch that anorexic hayseed Chris Collingsworth claiming that now that Brady is out, the Chargers and the Colts are the unquestioned elite teams of the AFC? Of course no mention of the Steelers, even though they had one of the most dominant victories of the day, and the Chargers and Colts both lost (albeit to good teams). It's a weird prejudice that smirking prick has--I guess you can take the boy out of the Bungles... If they win the SB this year, he'll still be there smirking away, saying "I just am not sure they're for real." What a dipshit.

Yeah, the Colts played minus their 3x All-Pro starting center, Jeff Saturday. After the game Addai was asked if there appeared to be any confusion or assignment problems on the line. He said the only problems the Colts had was due to lack of concentration and that they would study film and improve in those areas where they played so poorly.

Sanders said basicly the same thing. He said they were getting beaten up front, and that they would have to return to the drawing board and study some film to see what needed to be corrected. He seemed very dissappointed (as is most of Indy).

The Steelers looked like world beaters. Great job of preparation. I will be shocked if they don't win the AFC North.

All those Cleveland folks who thought this was their year need to start looking forward to next year.

I know what you mean. Normally he gushes all over the Pats. It's near impossible to watch a Pats-Colts game with him announcing. I just turn the sound off and listen to the local radio announcer, Bob Lamey. That guy is a riot.

He's right up there w/ Mike Florio in my book. Ohhh...I can not WAIT for next week. We're gonna serve Derek Anderson up on a platter and cannibalize his passing offense like Hannibal Lector.

Same old same old for the browns. the fans always get real excited before the season and then the team performs under expectations. I thought your colts would have their hands full with the jags this year but it looks like the injury bug has bitten them big time. It can happen to any team that's for sure (pats). I saw also that the titans were playing well but then heard on the radio about a controversy with the QB...I just didn't catch the details.

both collinsworth and madden hate the steelers and show it when they call a game. Talk about horrible announcers who watches MNF with the mute on? That disgusting little gnome Tony Kornholer should be put in a box and shipped overseas. We need Merrill Hoge in the booth with jaws and mike.

Last I heard Vince had sprained knee and could be out 3 or 4 weeks. I hope this is not a trend.

the injury bug is really biting hard this first week. So far the black and gold look pretty fit and ready to play football.

The Colts also lost their first pick, Mike Pollack, the All-American center out of Arizona State, to a knee injury. It doesn't appear to be major. He had his knee scoped yesterday and is expected to return in 2-3 weeks.

Saturday tore his medial collateral ligament. He had a choice of surgery or letting his knee heal on its own. If he had elected to have the surgery he would have been out for at least 10 weeks.

He chose to let the knee heal on its own, and the Colts are now saying it will be about 6 weeks before he returns.

In his absence, rookie Steve Justice will be the starter. I think if Pollack were healthy he would be starting.

What's up Bill!

Well, a rookie playing Center on the Colts is like brain surgery with an intern. It's possible, and might work out, but the probability of errors is high, and I'd rather not.

Justice is starting because the guy the Colts drafted to eventually replace Saturday (Pollack) is also hurt. Anybody who watched the Sunday game could see that the offense is WAY out of sync:

1) Manning needs a couple more games to get his act together

2) Harrison is still very tentative on the field. I'm starting to have my doubts about him returning to form,

3) In my view, the Colts need a new OC. The plays are stale and old. Every team in the league has seen the same show for about 8 years now. The fact that they have had outstanding personnel on the field has been their one saving grace. In the past the Colts' offense was like Lombardi's "wide right". Everybody knew it was coming, but couldn't stop it. Well, the NFL has caught up with Indy. We need some new wrinkles.

Unfortunately, the defense seems to have reverted to the 2006 defense. You know, soft in the middle and a glaring lack of focus at the wrong times. I guess that's what you get when you play so many young players.

When Manning returns to form I think the defense will catch up, or at least be able to play with a lead. That's what they're built for. In the mean time here's to hoping Justice gets better at Center, and that Harrison wakes up.

it's tough to have suspect play at center. we had that all last year with a FA pickup who is now gone. The NTs in the league are probably going to be blowing up a lot of colts plays. The good thing is Manning is so damn quick getting the ball out of his hands. My guess is, regardless of harrisons play, the TE Clark(?) will have a huge season and they will run more screens to slow down the blitz.
