Okay so maybe I was wrong wrote:
Okay... I may have overstepped and said something that could have been overlooked along the way ... I never checked to see if the feds had actually gone in and siezed the house boat. HOWEVER !!! There WAS a signing of papers a few short days proir to the raid ! Thus assumptions were made and I .. I .... I was wr wr wr wr...... wr wr wr ... WRONG !!! Okay I said it ! SORRY !!! OMG ! Now let it go folks this is by far NOT Marsha... HA ! Unless Marsha went and had a "addadicktame" surgery !. LOL Have a great weekend folks ! We'll get them bastards behind bars soon ! VERY soon hopefully !
Just an FYI - I can verify there was(what now looks like a failed attempt) to sign the houseboat over to a "friend". I'm assuming now it was an attemp to try and avoid it being seized. This happened right in front of me and a few other people about 4-5 days before the raid. I just wanted to let you know that this is not someone making stuff up, it did happened, and apparently failed, which I'm glad for. I was happy to see the post about the seizure and just wish they could've gotten more.

Would love an update, but I am sure the only news is MW is still on a spending spree and BW is still on an eating spree! Once the authorities come after him, he will be at-large AND large!!!

Another Superbowl has come and gone......all the while, The Whitfiled/Todd clan remains free...I too would appreciate news, or more important, action toward them that would incarserate them for their wrong doings.....It is not fair to say the least.

Our stolen and/or mis-used money must be funding a strong legal team.....sad to think the system protects them this way.

Anyone waiting to get money from Sommet should forget it.

The only chance to get anything will be to sue your employer for not doing their due diligence. If you were employed by a Sommet client and you were harmed by not receiving benefits that you paid for, you need to contact a competent attorney.

Don't take your employer's word. They are responsible for their lack of due diligence. Someone making financial decisions for you has a fiduciary responsibility. Ignorance of how to properly investigate a company is no excuse.

Seek legal advice.

As one of those "employers", believe me, we all feel terrible about the money it has cost us and our employees. I can only speak for myself, but, I do feel there was more I could have done. Luckily, we saw the red flags and moved health insurance, payroll etc. away from Sommet long before the raid. We did take care of reimbursing employees for Christmas Club money and any medical bills that were unpaid. No profit sharing monies were missing thank goodness. Our company absorbed the losses so that the employees did not have to. So, please don't group us all together. Some of us have been fortunate enough to be able to take the responsibility and take care of our employees who are the really innocent victims in this whole crazy mess.

We all make bad decisions sometimes. It's what you do about it and what you learn from it that matters.

Victim 999, I agree with you. It sounds liked you stepped up and absorbed any losses to your employees. I am talking to the unfortunate employees of companies that did not and suffered financially.

It is unfortunate for the companies because they are victims also. But, at the end of the day, when you make decisions about other people's premiums, savings, and retirement ....etc., you also take on the responsibility and liability for not doing due diligence.

Don't beat yourself up over this. No one knew for a long time how crooked the Sommet leaders were. What a bunch of con artists!!!!

To #1207.....yes, not everyone should be grouped together....some got out, others did not. Sommet was good at "pulling the wool" so to speak.

However, you are probably correct about getting any money back. But just as important to many, is that the Whitfields get punished for all this.

As to my knowledge, BW is working in another state, Ed Todd is working at the mall and Marsha is just hanging out living off our money....just is not right.

To the best of my knowledge, Whitfield legally manuvuered Ed out of any money long before the raid, maybe a year. Ed still collected a generous draw, but company assets were out of his reach. Whitfield had sole access to those.

Regardless....Ed was a partner and had knowledge of dealings of the company and BW. Yes, rumor has it that he was "retiring" but he still knew about everything.

Sounds like BW was a bigger slime ball than we all realized. Hope they press charges in the near future. He needs to pay for the misery he has headed on people.

My brother was an employee of Brandcentrik. He died spring of 2010 and because Sommet was not paying insurance of any kind his family was left with no life insurance. It's not about the money but about the Whitfield's recognizing yet another way they have greatly affected other people because they chose to mismanage money for their own benefit. I feel like I need to fight for him because he is not here to fight for himself. He was proud of his job and put a lot of time and effort into that company…and this is what he (and his family) get in return? I just want my chance to see them face to face in court!!
