If things go well, all will be well but if the UM goes into the tank and has another bad season then Randy puts himself in a difficult situation. No coach in a big money making program should put himself in situation like that because it will create doubts in the mind of UM athletic administrators that the coach is play Mr. Nepotism. The pleasure of having your son working for you can quickly become pain instead of pleasure. It is like working or being in a family business where objectivity seems to disappear because "it is your own blood."

But, how do you get to be 301 Lbs at 6-1 height... he must be chubby little thing.

So let me get this straight. Just because Xaviers dad is the coach of the school that can teach him what he needs to know to do what he wants to do in life, he should worry about what others think? That is utterly ridiculous. It's an opportunity. It would be stupid not to take advantage of a great opportunity 'cause you care about how it looks. If he deserves to be there, he should be there. If he is good enough, he should be on the team. If he is smart enough, he should go for his masters. Nothing else matters.

I did not say that it is the right or the wrong thing. It is just that when a coach has his own kids in a business like this, it can be a difficult thing to have it come to a proper conclusion because the coach no longer is just the coach of the team but he is also a dad to one of the players.

If you worked in a family business at anytime in your life, you might understand it. If you are a coach at a little private school or high school or some small program is different than in a big national business like college football at the UM is.

Look, I am not screaming bloody murder or anything, I just thought that Randy might have looked or should have looked into having his son play for another coach. It is better for Randy. It might even be better for the kid and for the family long term relationship.
