Ex-Viking pleads to risky play with son

I refuse to believe anyone is that stupid. The prior injuries to the child, which experts conclude seem to be intentional in some of the cases leads me to believe he intentional abuses the child for whatever reason.

No grown man no matter how dumb or ill equiped mentally, tightens a plastic bag over the head of a 2 year old child for fun.
Then he could not get it off when the mother walked in because it got hooked on his chin. Give me a break. Either way if he is that big of an idiot he should not be left with the child again. If he is not then he is simply a child abuser and should not see his son again. Either way he is out there breathing up good air that usefull people could be breathing.

PS. Racism can't always be the excuse for subversive illegal behavior.

This offering of lesser charges when the attorney is Freiburg or one of the other expensive hot shot lawyers makes a mockery of the justice system. What Freeman should have said is that Freiburg was going to shoot holes through all the trumped up evidence they thought they were going to present. If you can create enough doubt and you paid a small fortune for the lawyer, you will walk...its that simple. I just hope someone has enough sense to not give him visitation rights again to this kid until he is a teenager and can defend himself.

I'd say no unsupervised contact with the child till he is atleast around 15. Why would anyone put a plastic bag on a child's head, playing or not. That's child endangerment if ask me. He is getting off easy. I'm a big person myself and I never caused any marks and bruises on my sons, and we rough housed.

In short yes. Racism is not bounded to middle-aged white guys in t-shirts enjoying a Premium calling every black person a n*****. Its not about wealth or lack of but how you are viewed. I assumed you know no blacks of class or wealth because they will tell you that whites rarely make a separation on how they view them as opposed to the young man with his pants around his knees. It was up to them to 'prove' themselves to be mainstream. Sort of like the way Obama is running his commercials.

Yes "More Truth", you are right. I, as a New Yorker, am surrounded by ONLY white people. Here in NYC, we are mainly white. We have no blacks, no latinos, no asians, no middle east types, no africans, no europeans, we are a very homogeneous city. Unlike the melting pot of Minnesota, where all ethnicities are represented, blond as well as brunette.

Like most people of your type, you pigeon hole people based upon whether they agree with your assumptions about anything. So once again, you are wrong. While I generally have voted Democrat, I as an open-minded individual, I tend to make judgements based upon many factors. I dont simply vote for the candidate my party says I should vote for. Why does this always have to be a black or white issue? People in MN always jump to the fact that when something bad happens it must be perpetrated by a black person. There are just as many racist bad white people. I lived there for 10 years and was not impressed with the self serving attitudes of the "white" people.

It doesn't matter if this guy was white, black or green. He is an idiot. Even if what he says is true, he is just an accident waiting to happen. Even in playing, putting a plastic bag over a 2 year olds head is asking for trouble. What about the next time the kid is out of his sight and he plays with the bag to mimic his dad. That's when tragedy could strike and who would suffer, the kid. But because he could afford the $100,000 lawyer, the prosecution knew they were outgunned and caved. Oh well, there are plenty of other convictions of people who didn't have the great defense so their little spreadsheet won't even notice the blip from this case. Let's just hope the mom has enough sense to only allow supervised visits from now on.

Hmmmm. So, being categorized or identifying as black somehow means you're not proud of being white too? Seems to me that Obama is very proud of his mother and if you read his books you'd know that.

So I guess you don't have any difference at looking at white kids as you do black kids as you do all of these mixed kids? Sure you do Mr Duke. You see a mixed kid and you don't think, "Ah, there's a kid"- You look at him and wonder what the story of his parents are and if he's a teen or adult you those suspicions turn to action. That's what a "dark skinned white kid" like Obama dealt with in Kansas and Hawaii. So he searched for identity and felt his experience was closest to African Americans which he is half.

Now, it wasn't blacks but us whites who decided that 1/8 black blood meant you were black. That law is still on the books. We don't think about it because until recently, it hasn't really affected us. Only those who were faced with 'white-only' signs, redlining, segregation and discrimination.
