Somehow, running back Ricky Williams still has Dolphins' number

When last on the edge of an opening day, Ricky Williams dressed only in white for purity, hadn't shaved for a year as a lesson in vanity and wanted to wear No.

It is rather odd that this guy is now the longest tenured Dolphin.

I don't care about the past now. I just want him to run over everybody.

I say he's a 1,000 yard rusher this season for one. Secondly, perhaps Come Back Player of The Year Award could be in the making. Go Ricky, show us what your made of bro.

You bring up a point(Breifly) that no one ever seems to want to fully acknowledge, he proved his self for 2 seasons as the only offense on the team. The Dolphins decided not to pay him accordingly. We know how things turned out by not paying him, are we so negative that we refuse to believe things may have been different if they did?

There is something about Ricky. He is authentic and somehow uncorrupted. He has a personality that makes you pull for him. With all his talent, he is still the underdog that you can't help but root for.
I can't wait to watch him run again. I hope he enjoys it and shows us who the man is.

When this guy retired he was mocked mercilessly. But he knew that there were more important things in life than throwing your health away for a loser coach. I'm glad to see Ricky has grown and evolved and come back home to us. This is going to be fun to watch.

as for Wannstadts tenure...what an idiot!!!! it shouldn't have been about paying Ricky according to the amount of use or carries they got out of him...it was about shlitty coaching and coaching philosophy. Wannstadt destroyed this organization with shlitty coaching, coaching philosophy, and organizational management (drafts and free agents). Jay Fieder...come-on. they won games with Jimmy's defence drafts during his three years here.

I am glad Ricky is around to enjoy the next two years of good organization and coaching. he will prosper.

of the first nine comments made on this blog, not one is negative with regard to Ricky and his return. Kudos to you all, for we all recognize what Ricky went through during his tenure under Wannstadt, his true characer, and his value to ANY organization...he is a good character guy with a ton of talent...someone we are all pulling for. go get 'em Ricky!

I'm not a fins fan and I don't dislike them either. But I can't help but pull for Ricky. He's a good guy, plays hard always, doesnt talk a bunch of crap, and I'll take him on my team anyday. It was too bad so many people gave him a bunch of crap because he smoked weed. You know that 99% of those people had their own vices as well.

How come no one has seen the Ottis Anderson angle? Carried 325 times for Parcell's Giants in '89, 14 rushing touchdowns. Age: 32

How many times does he have to show you what he's made of? Its two parts Social Retard, along with mixed parts of Drug Addiction, and an equal part quitter-itis. Tucked into the recipe is a hell of Rusher, WHEN he feels like YOU deserve a break from his stupidity. Jesus.

For those interested: The Giants were running at former Dolphin Jason Taylor in last nights Redskins Giants game. Jason would have been great in the Dolphins 3-4 defense. I think Jason may turn out to be the loser with his decision to join the Redskins. The Washington Redskins ran the worst excuse for the "west coast offense" that I have ever seen. Perhaps the Giants defense had something to do with that but the Redskins looked confused on offense.

Dave Wannemustache used him and abused him.
He was running 3 hundred something times with a bad offensive line and was getting creamed by linebackers at the line of scrimmage. I felt for the guy and wasn't suprised he left. He was going nowhere after an 1800 yard season and wannwmustache did nothing to improve the O-Line or qb position.
You could tell he was looking to break 2000 yards the next season and was disapointed when mustache wanted to just kill him. And he didn't get a raise on top of it? I think a disappointed and dismayed williams had enough of mr Highpinga and wannemustache and gave them the ultimate Finger. He was on the verge of greatness and they didn't appreciate him. The dude just wants to be appreciated and respected like any other superstar. Parcells knows that type a guy he had to deal with one for years named Lawrence Taylor.

Jason is a loser. He stole the Mvp from Merriman. And was only as good as the players around him. We ran over him and Roth for 250yds 40-13 Your right he might have made it at outside linebacker. He's gonna stink this year and go out a Loser.
Dancing with the stars got him out of Miami. Parcells doesn't like guys that dance, he likes ones that play.
